Peter THORPE Obituary

THORPE Peter of Bisbrooke, former proprietor of Glaston Garage, passed away peacefully after a long illness on 20th September 2023 aged 81 years. Beloved husband of the late Ella, amazing father to Nicola, Ingrid and Lynn, loving grandad to Alex and Grace and a much loved brother to Paul and John. Following a private cremation, a service to celebrate Peter's life will be held at Uppingham Parish Church on Monday
9th October 2023
at 12.30pm.
Family flowers only,
but donations, if desired, to the
Rutland Memorial Hospital
and Macmillan Cancer Support.

A wonderful ceremony yesterday.
Very emotional readings in the Church.

My heart-strings were tugged at, on the day, and the day, at the church ceremony and the reception afterwards. It brought home just what the wider friendship,m as well as the close family I have in Uppingham and the surrounding area, truly means to me.

Plenty of tears were shed by me after I got home, and I thought about those that are no longer with us, and the wonderful people that remain in this community I am proud to think of as my home.

I hope to spend more time there, in the future.

Ingrid, Nikki and Lynn thank you for being so strong, and so giving of your time, on a tough day for you, and your family, especially your Dad's twin brother Paul.

Your Mum and Dad can be together again, and you retain and treasure such vivid and precious memories of them.

I look forward to seeing you all again, very soon, and in happier times for you.
