A great all-round teacher - I remember Mr Bigg at Uplands School: teaching PE (football) and Art. amongst other subjects. Always sympathetic and encouraging and up for a laugh with his (unruly) pupils... Great times at UMS 1979-83. RIP.

One of the best teachers I´ve had the pleasure to meet. Played badminton with him many times. A true gent.

During my five years at Sudbury Boys' Secondary School (1967-72), Mr Bigg was always a hard-working, enthusiastic and inspirational teacher. I remember feeling very anxious on my first day at the school, but going home and telling my parents that it was all OK because I had an great class teacher called Mr Bigg ...and this was certainly the case. I also have many memories of all the extra activities that he organised; the most amazing being a week-long trip in a minibus to the south of France!
When we left the Boys' Secondary School in 1972, many of us felt inspired by our positive experiences there to continue our education.
I have spoken to a number of my old class-mates and would like to say Thank you, Mr Bigg - and our condolences to your family.
