passed away peacefully after a short illness on
Monday, October 20, 2025.
Jeanne was born on December 4, 1936, in Stockton-on-Tees to the late Margaret Reeks. A dedicated and much-loved figure, she served for many years as a Domestic Bursar at Seaford College, Lavington Park.
She was widely known for her indomitable spirit and was affectionately referred to by many as the 'Mother of the College'.
Her greatest joy was found at home, tending to her garden, and she treasured her time enjoying lively conversations with her wide circle of family and friends, both locally and abroad.
Jeanne is survived by her loving son, Julian Bester, and her two beloved grandchildren, Noelle Hartles and Becky Scott.
As per her express wishes, there will be no funeral service or memorial.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests that donations be made in Jeanne's honour to The Air Ambulance Service, a charity she dutifully supported for many years.
