Maybe from the very first day...and what a day that was...from that moment you made your grand entry into this world you stole a piece of my heart...you were the first grandchild...the first one to call me MeMe...being a part of your life and watching you grow has been an honor and one of the best experiences filled with lots of love and laughter, tears and pain...from being at all of your firsts to now having to accept being at your last...this is heart wrenching to say the least...words cannot express how incredibly proud I am of you and all that you achieved in your short time here...I was truly blessed and I´m eternally grateful and thankful to have been a part of your journey here...as quoted "death leaves a heartache no one can heal, love leaves a memory no one can steal"...you will forever have that piece of my heart you stole on September 1, 2006...until we are reunited again Maya Boo Boo, dance with the angels!

Nick so sad that you have lost your daughter in an unusual way. It is really hard to digest her passing in the start of a new year. She appeared to be a beautiful sweet child who has gone to soon as she lived an extraordinary life at such a young age. My heart breaks for you. It's hard to find the words for such a loss. Amaya was always such a lovely, sweet, cheery, and vibrant girl. Whenever I see or hear her name, that's the memory I'll hold onto.
You both did an amazing job raising her, even through the hard times. Your other children are a testament to the incredible parents you are.
