AMY MADELINE KNIGHT

AMY MADELINE KNIGHT, 95, of Springfield, Virginia, passed away peacefully on December 6th, 2025. She was born on November 30th, 1930, in St. George's, Bermuda, to William and Dorothea Darrell, and lived a long, meaningful life marked by faith, grace, and a deep devotion to her family and community.A devout Catholic, Amy attended Mass daily whenever possible, drawing strength, comfort, and purpose from her unwavering faith. She served faithfully on the parish council at Saint Theresa's Cathedral in Bermuda. On March 20th, 1951, Amy married the love of her life, Harold Knight, beginning a beautiful partnership that would span decades. Together, Amy and Harold built a warm, loving life and created a legacy rooted in hard work and community. The couple proudly started and operated a successful food truck business, beloved for its hearty hamburgers, savory fish cakes, and other delicious lunch favorites. Their truck soon became a neighborhood landmark - a place where good food, friendly smiles, and Amy's welcoming spirit made everyone feel at home.The truck was stationed on Bermudiana Road across from the Lobster Pot Restaurant.Amy is preceded in death by her loving husband, Harold Knight; her parents, William and Dorothea Darrell; her brother, Charles Darrell; her sister, Josephine DeSilva; and her brother-in-law, George DeSilva.She will be lovingly remembered by her daughters, Jeanna Knight and L'Tanya Wells (Estee); her 4 grandchildren; 11 great-grandchildren.Amy also leaves to cherish her memory her 1 great-great-granddaughter; her sister Gertrude Rabain (Roger); and many loving nieces, nephews, and numerous close friends.She will be deeply missed and lovingly remembered by all who had the privilege of knowing her.
