Andreas Hauer Obituary
HAUER - Andreas, 67, died suddenly on December 24, 2013 at his home in New York City. Born in Norway, 'Andy' was the son of Karl and Ellen Hauer and grew up in the San Francisco Bay area. He served in the Navy during the Vietnam War on the hospital ship USS Repose. Andy was well known for his expertise in the compensation and benefits field. Most recently, he served as a Director with RenaissanceRe in Bermuda. Andy was an immaculate dresser, avid golfer, and was known for his quick wit, dry sense of humor, love of great wines and the best restaurants. Survivors include his wife of 26 years, Kitty Haines of New York City, two sisters Eva (George) Hewes of Pebble Beach, CA, Liz (John Johnson) Hauer of San Francisco, CA, two nieces Christina Hewes of Pleasanton, CA, Erica (Jesse) Weber of Burlingame, CA and two grand nieces. A celebration of Andy's life will be held on January 18th at 2:30PM at the Metropolitan Club in New York City. For those who cannot attend, please raise a glass of fine wine in his honor. In lieu of flowers, a donation may be made to the Masterworks Museum.
