Ashley Cobb Obituary
Decatur
Born June 25, 1976 in Anchorage, Alaska, to a very loving and caring young unwed mother. After 14 days, Ashley was given to us to be our precious baby girl. To our great sorrow, we only were able to have her with us for 35 years. Through all the years of joy, laughter, and at times tears, she is still and always will be our "Gift from God." Ashley left her life on earth, April 21, 2012. We can only hope she has finally found her way to once again be healthy and happy.
As a cancer survivor at a very young age, Ashley was always a friend to the less fortunate who came into her life and tried to help them any way and any time she could. Being an "Air Force Brat" was something that always made her proud of who and where she was in her life. Thus, Ashley had many friends across this beautiful country we all call home.
Ashley attended many schools but graduated from Decatur High in 1994 and Athens State University in 2000. At the time of her death, Ashley was completing her master's degree in psychological counseling at Grand Canyon University in Phoenix, Arizona.
To honor and respect her mission in life, always be kind to the less fortunate (especially the four legged ones) who may need a home, love, and a family.
Ashley is survived by her "very best friends" (all rescue dogs), Moose, Jaeger, and Nick; her parents, John and Peggy Cobb; her aunt, Marcia Silva; and her cousins, Stephanie, Tres, and Beth Cunningham. Other survivors (too numerous to list) are all of her wonderful Cobb aunts, uncles, and cousins.
Ashley's life was celebrated on April 24, 2012, with an impromptu gathering with only a few family members present! However, she had always felt so lucky to have been in such a large extended family. The Cobb family goes on and on and she was always proud to be a "Cobb" and loved to say with pride, "I'm just like my father."
TO ASHLEY: We love and miss you and as Bob Hope said so many times....."THANKS FOR THE MEMORIES!"

Mr. and Mrs. Cobb, my heart goes out for you. I don't know if you remember, but was one of my closest friends Bartlett in Anchorage. I was happy to reconnect with her a few years ago. She will be missed and is loved. Thank you for sharing your gift with all of us.
