AUDREY JEFFREY Obituary

It is with deep sadness that we announce the passing of AUDREY FRANCES JEFFREY on March 18th, 2026, in her 95th year. She was a beloved wife, mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, sister, aunt, and faithful friend to many. Audrey was predeceased by her husband, the late Frederick John Jeffrey, and was deeply loved by her sons, the late Mark (Jaishree), John (the late Dawn), the late David (Suzanne) and Michael (Judith) Jeffrey. Audrey is survived by her brother Melvyn (Marg) Worth and nephews and nieces Stephen (Jodi) Worth, Raven (Tom) Haffie in Canada and Dan (Roslyn) Worth in Bermuda; her loving grandchildren Lauren, Callum, Kaitlyn, Clark, and Dylan Jeffrey; and her great-grandchildren Lilah and Reuben Griffith. She also had extended family in Canada, the United States and England.Special thanks to nephew Dan Worth who was a tremendous help to her in her final years.Sincere gratitude to the care teams from Access Care and Westmeath Nursing Home for the compassionate care they provided. Deep appreciation to the Pastoral Care team and the Guild of St. John's Church for their continued Christian fellowship.Audrey was born in Gananoque, Ontario, Canada in 1931. She trained as a nurse at Kingston General Hospital. In 1953, she travelled to Bermuda to work at King Edward Memorial Hospital. While in Bermuda, she met Fred, and they were married in 1956. Audrey worked as a nurse until the birth of her first son in 1957. She returned to work in 1971 after her youngest son started preschool. Instead of returning to nursing. Audrey became a preschool teacher at the Lyceum Nursery School where her youngest son was enrolled. She continued working at the Lyceum Nursery School until she retired at age 65. Audrey was an active member of St. John's Church. She was a member of the choir, assisted in the thrift shop, volunteered in the office, and helped with preparing the elements for Holy Communion. After retirement, Audrey stayed active both physically and socially. She enjoyed attending weekly exercise classes, followed by tea and cookies with friends. She also attended many of the talks and activities available for seniors and enjoyed attending music concerts. Although she was very sociable, Audrey also enjoyed her personal space and especially loved her home with its view of Shelly Bay. Audrey was loved by many and will be fondly remembered.AMIS Memorial Chapel & Crematory
