Dear Karen, Betty-Jean, Dawn & entire Gilbert & Russell families,
I extend my sincerest condolences to you on the passing of your loved one. I pray that God's peace be with all of you during this time.
Your Mom was one who was always very caring and showed love to all. I knew I was in for a real treat when your Mom, grandmother, sister baked or cooked her favorite dishes or desserts at the many community or PLP events. Although I had not seen Mom in recent years, I will cherish the time that I did get to be in her presence during school days at Sandys Secondary School, PLP community events or at Church events.
Truly your Mom has left a rich legacy in each of the children, grands and great grands. Cherish the many memories that you hold dear in your hearts and continue on with all the family traditions. I know that Karen will ensure that!!
Mrs. Gilbert a committed Christian has now gone from labor to rest. Prayers will continue for the family.

Dear Gilbert family,
You have our deepest condolences. Betty was like a mother to all and most notably being the excellent cook for many years for so many summer camps including The Centre's overnight camps. The best pancakes, pizza and more she was known for. We will all miss her gentle and kind spirit. She lived showing the love of Jesus.

To my Family, the Gilberts, I am sending condolences on the loss of my dear Aunt Betty. I have so many fond memories of her growing up. I can remember when my Mom Ina(I) Smith her cousin would get together making cakes and sharing their daily chats. Always remember that your Mom lived a full life, continue to keep all of her memories in your hearts. Aunt Betty was one of a kind.
I know that God will take care of you all, as he did your Mom. Let us remember that Earth has no Sorrow that Heaven cannot cure. My Dad Clarence Big Smith, my sister's and brothers will all miss Aunt Betty. So family let not your hearts be troubled.

I am sending sincere and heartfelt condolences for the loss of your mom.
Mrs. Gilbert was an exceptional woman!
I have heard many stories about Mrs. Gilbert and her husband through my association with Karen, BettyJean and Dawn and I never grew tired of listening to them.
Mrs. Gilbert has had a very productive life. She exposed her children to the political scene when they were very young.
She showed them by example how to serve in their community.
She taught them how to cook and bake. Mrs. Gilbert's culinary skills were so exemplary that people would call her for advice and or her recipes.
She was stern, but was a very kind person by nature. Her children have inherited those same attributes of kindness and caring for others.
All of those lessons learned by her children were displayed in the loving home care they provided for her throughout her declining health.
Mrs. Gilbert has left a great legacy.
Family, treasure the many memories you have shared over the years and may they bring an abundance of peace.
If I had to pen a quote for her tombstone, it would read:
HERE LIES A TRULY VIRTUOUS WOMAN.
