The greeting words of Blanche..."Hello, Honey..." will forever remain in my ears. The wonder of her longevity, her alertness, her overwhelming openness and kindness will forever remain in my heart. A person who spread such love to all, in turn, is loved immensely by all. Sorry that I neglected to visit her this past year, as I remember how proud she was when she reached ninety. She is my childhood memory, my adult image of unquestioning love. Sorry, Norma, that I am not in Bermuda at this time. You and your siblings were blessed to have this great woman as your mother.

Eddie and family,
So sorry to hear of your Mum's passing. On my first visit to Bermuda in 1968, you brought me to your house where Blanche and Willie had me as a guest for dinner, and we connected many times after that on subsequent visits and when I lived on the Island. Their warmth and genuine kindness touched me. May your memories help to ease the pain of loss.

To the whole of Aunt Blanche's family

I'm very sorry to hear of your loss.

May you rest in peace Nan, after a very long and selfless life.

I will never forget how Nan became my surrogate mother many years ago when she became my landlady for the better part of two years.

I was never cold, never hungry and my clothes were always ironed.

I always met many great people coming I and out of the house.
