We are saddened to announce the passing of CATHERINE MCGONAGLE (NEE MCCASKIE) at 94 years of age, on Sunday, May 25th, 2025, at Westmeath in Pembroke. Born in Glasgow, Scotland.Cathie was predeceased by her beloved husband Edward J. McGonagle. In Bermuda, she is survived by sister-in-law Maureen Marshall; nieces Anne-Marie Porteous and Amanda Marshall; and nephew Andrew Marshall; as well as, dear friend, Audrey Scott. In Scotland, by nieces Anne Robertson, Margaret McBride and Kathleen McGough; nephews Robert McCaskie, David McCaskie, Thomas McCaskie and Danny McGonagle; great nieces Jennifer Miller, Bethany Daly, Laura McCaskie, Emma McCaskie and Jennifer McGonagle; and great nephews Craig McCaskie, Robbie McCaskie, David McGonagle, Richard McGough and Sean McGough. In Australia, by nephews Gregor McCaskie, Ian McCaskie and Gordon McCaskie (later deceased); great niece Heather McCaskie; and great nephew Stuart McCaskie. In the USA, by brother-n-law Joseph McGonagle and sister-in-law Margaret McGonagle; niece Lynn Ognissanti; nephew Joseph McGonagle; great-nieces Tarra DeFelice, Courtney McGonagle, Taylor McGonagle and McKayla McGonagle; and great-nephews Patrick Ognissanti, Michael Ognissanti and Calum McCaskie.A memorial gathering will be held on Sunday, July 6th at 2 pm at Beacon House, corner of Cedar Avenue and Dundonald Street in the City of Hamilton.Please consider in lieu of flowers donating to the SPCA, Vision Bermuda or Westmeath. So sorry to learn of the passing of Catherine. She and Eddie were strong supporters of the Caledonian Society and at the country dancing sessions. A strong silent supporter of a better Bermuda Catherine was a beacon of hope and example to many.

So sorry to read of Cathie's passing. She and Eddie were good friends of mine for many years during my time in Bermuda. We spent many happy evenings at The Caledonian Society of Bermuda events!
