Charlie, m´bye, you gone tshru de treas. Missing you much since I last saw you and Deb in Florida a few years ago. Used to work and sail with Charlie and Sonny back in the day. "Salty Dog" and "Sweet Honey" racing in the BOCA series for many years. We had some serious sets back then (1970´s). Actually, those still remain in memory as the best of times. How `bout the ones down at Easter´s dock in St. Davids, on May 24th holiday, any holiday, for that matter. I think we probably made up our own holidays. I remember I would stop by the slip to see if the SET WAS ON! If it was, we were sailing out through Two Rock within the hour.
Well, mate, God Bless you all.

Oh Charlie, you were one of a kind! Your twinkling blue eyes sparked of mischief; your quiet street smart wisdom, and your sense of humour captured Debbie first, and then those of us who were Debbie's friends! I'm ever so thankful to have shared your friendship for so many years. I know you and Deb are together again. Blessings my friend.

I first met Uncle Charlie when l worked on a boat at Red Hole boat yard in the early 80's..Over the years,he and l became very good friends...I opted to call him Uncle Charlie because of our age difference...and because of the respect l had for this man...Along came the love of his life and she became my Aunt Debbie...Neither one of them would have me call them anything else...but he often reminded me not to call him UNCLE in front of his friends...This encouraged me to do it even more no matter who was around..uncle Charlie taught me the art of splicing rope...His love and knowledge of boats helped me on many occasions...He had another love as well and it was that of his beloved dog SAM....It seemed that Sam ruled the roost for both he and aunt Debbie..With tear filled eyes,it is difficult to come to terms with his departure from this world...I remember telling him to remember me in his will...His reply was...I HAVE NOTHING...I OWE PLENTY AND THE REST IS YOURS....Uncle Charlie was a wonderful person and role model to many...I will sincerely miss him...It was difficult seeing this senior being pull to the top of a mast to effect repairs...He had no fear of those heights...Uncle Charlie...rest in peace.... you have earned it...God Bless his family and friends...jcs

Sad news indeed..was in the Army with the Loader Brothers and raced against Charlie in the BOCA Series...who could forget sharing a few "green gorillas" at the RHADC (Red Hole Arguing and Drinking Club) where Charlie would produce his "snapper kapper"...a cedar handle with two screws ! He knew all about boats and how to fix problems.
Shall miss him on the waterfront.
"Fair winds and following seas Charlie"
Condolences to the Family.
