Dear Charles...God has a true angel in the midst of us..Not many could really say what made up a true compassionate soul for mankind, for those least fortunate in our world and who could or would not speak for themselves Charlie was a strong advocate in Bermuda for so many that remain nameless...He never made you feel that he was out of sorts..My Dad and I and Don will miss him fondly with his visits to New York from time to time during the Thanksgiving holiday especially after Charlie had taken the time to be with me after my Dad's heart surgery..Charlie will be missed and we pray for the family at this time to recall his strong personality for those less fortunate and for those who will miss his love of life that was shared with us in Bermuda and the states.. Miss you Dear Friend..I pray we will see each other in a much better Life eternal!! God Bless you all,Anna Zotti-Conklin and Cosimo Zotti

I first met Charlie at RICH where we had amazing fellowship.

Met Charles at one of Reggie Ming's Christmas luncheons back in late 70s. Charles was friendly and as a visitor he took me around on Boxing Day to meet his family where I first tried Portugese sausage. He liked visiting NYC at Thanksgiving to see the Macy's parade but he was a proud Bermudian, liked to talk, had upbeat personality and always cheerful. After 25 years we reconnected through internet and hearing of his passing was a sad day for me. Memories are many to be shared by family and friends, keep smiling Charles.

Bermuda has lost one of it's true characters. Always there with a smile and full of energy. I have known him since I was a young lad working at my grandmother's restaurant. He came in most days for his lunch and always was happy to be there. My condolences to the family.

I was deeply saddened to learn of the passing Charles Spanswick and equally as sad that I am overseas and unable to attend his memorial service.
Charles Spanswick was a political activist who performed a necessary role in our society - speaking out on issues; by challenging those in leadership & authority; and running for public office. In all of those efforts Charles Spanswick's efforts reconfirmed our democracy and caused those in dominion over us to consider their positions.
In my respectful opinion Charles Spanswick was 'good people', a necessary voice for ordinary people who will be missed in the public realm by those familiar with his voice and those whose message he carried.
