My encounter with Mr Davis was about 26 years ago ( was 18). We had both missed our flight from Philly to Bda. He had to be at work the next day and so bought a ticket from Philly to NY and from NY to BDA. As my trip was a shopping trip, I don't even think I had five dollars to my name and had resolved to sleeping in the airport to catch the next day flight to BDA when to my surprise Mr Davis handed me tickets to NY and Bermuda AND money to catch a taxi home. At the time I was working at the Bank and would make payments to him when I could. He never pressured me. Unfortunately, that was my only encounter with Mr Davis, but he did make a difference in my life as I try to be helpful to others.

REST IN PEACE MR DAVIS

LaVern, Laurin, Dwayne, Aunt Sylvia and my dear cousins,

So many kind words have been said about my beautiful cousin Clarence 'Kong Kong' Davis. Every word written, every compliment extended merely touch the surface of the giant of a man that Clarence was. Humble, kind, forthright, fair and just. He will be sadly missed yet fondly remembered.

In this time of sorrow I draw your attention to the words used by Jesus to comfort his disciples, John 14, 1-4
"Do not let your hearts be troubled. Trust in God; trust also in me. In my Father's house are many rooms; if it were not so, I would have told you. I am going there to prepare a place for you. And if I go and prepare a place for you, I will come back and take you to be with me that you also may be where I am. You know the way to the place where I am going."

Clarence has taken his journey to glory and I am convinced he is safe in God's arms. And as we trust and believe in God's word; we WILL see him again.

Bless you

My condolences to Lavern and all Clarence's family. I greatly appreciated Clarence's support during my time in Bermuda, especially when I was Commissioner of Corrections. Having Clarence's advice and guidance on matters Bermudian was invaluable, both professionally and personally. He was a good ambassador for Bermuda when he came to England and those who met him always spoke fondly about the impression he created when visiting prisons here.

Clarence was a good man, Barbara and I valued his friendship, and we are sure that he will be a great loss, not only to his family but also to the Department of Corrections.

To LaVern and the Lamb Family and All of the Davis Family (especially Karen)and the Department of Corrections Family.

Clarence was a very special and big hearted individual who always had a big hug and radiant smile. He indeed was a gentle man with such refined characteristics. He meant a lot to me and was like family.

All of Bermuda will miss him. Let's continue to believe in the hope that Jesus has left us with and that soon and very soon He will return and will call His children by name to come forth from the grave and be caught up in the air with those that remain on earth to meet Him in the air. Together we will go to heaven to live for eternity. Clarence is at rest awaiting that great day!

To God be the Glory for His Life. He touched me in a very positive way.

My God comfort you at this time is my prayer for the entire family.

Mrs. Davis and family, ACOC Davis, C. as I refer to him, has always amazed me how he just KNEW EVERYTHING! On top of that he was always encouraging to me,without realizing it, he had me doing projects that I wouldnt have offered to do. He saw potential in everyone. He also showed concern about the well being of myself and my family. He is a wealth of knowledge and a caring man. My heart goes out to you all. He is missed by many. But his memory lives on.

Like a comet
Blazing 'cross the evening sky
Gone too soon

Like a rainbow
Fading in the twinkling of an eye
Gone too soon

Shiny and sparkly
And splendidly bright
Here one day
Gone one night

Like the loss of sunlight
On a cloudy afternoon
Gone too soon

Like a castle
Built upon a sandy beach
Gone too soon

Like a perfect flower
That is just beyond your reach
Gone too soon

Born to amuse, to inspire, to delight
Here one day
Gone one night

Like a sunset
Dying with the rising of the moon
Gone too soon
Gone too soon

These are the words that keep coming to me, as I absorb the passing of Clarence. Laverne, you have my deepest sympathy. As I know that your love for Clarence was a special kinda love ! May God be with you during this time !
