Claudette Tevis Obituary

Claudette ("Kym") Marie Tevis Jan 30, 1957 - Mar 5, 2025 CLAUDETTE MARIE TEVIS, of Bermuda and Wilmington, NC, died peacefully and surrounded by loved ones on March 5th, 2025, in Wilmington, NC. Claudette was born January 30th, 1957, at Eglin Air Force Base in Fort Walton Beach, FL to Edwina Cann and Frank Tevis. As her father was a member of the US Air Force, Claudette traveled around the world, living in several states, as well as in Japan and Bermuda. She attended Richmond High School in Richmond, IN and later earned an associate's degree at Cape Fear Community College in Wilmington, NC. She was a loving daughter, sister, niece, aunt, cousin, and friend. As a young adult, Claudette lived in Hamilton Parish, Bermuda. She had a passion for fine jewelry and started her professional career at Sovereign Jewellers, Ltd, as a sales associate and worked her way up to store manager. Claudette then transitioned into the financial services industry and worked for an exempt company. She then moved to Wilmington, NC, where she obtained her degree and worked at New Hanover Regional Medical Center, forming many incredible friendships. Claudette was extremely supportive of her family. She showed her love in many ways, whether through a thoughtful card, a big hug, or simply by being there when it mattered most. Providing a constant source of warmth and encouragement, she cared for her nieces and nephews as if they were her own. Claudette also loved music and television, with a special affection for Prince, Gerald Levert, and Bruno Mars. Whether she was singing and dancing to her favorite songs or getting lost in a good TV show or her stories - always with a snack - she enjoyed embracing life's simple pleasures. No matter where she lived she always enjoyed following how the St George's Cricket Club played in the annual Cup Match Cricket Classic in Bermuda. While she sometimes projected a tough exterior, beneath it was a heart of gold.
