Last month I got such a shock to hear Clyde was no longer with us. Devastating news to learn so late and far away. There are only two of us in Australia from The Middlesex Hospital days to commiserate this loss. Our sincerest condolences. Feeling the gap in the air that was Clyde.

We are really saddened to hear of Clyde´s passing and we offer our sincerest condolences to his family.
Clyde was such a wonderful, warm-hearted person and an incredibly generous human being; be it with his time or his words of wisdom and advice. He was the quintessential gentleman and a brilliant host when we visited Bermuda in 2006 when he went to great lengths to set up talks for me on herbal medicine at the hospital.
He was always positive and outward-looking, bringing many different people together whether it be for professional collaboration or personal connections. He was simply a genuinely beautiful spirit, an exceptional colleague and friend. We feel truly blessed to have known him and Heaven is now richer for his presence.

Dear Ann, Albert and family
I opened the paper and exclaimed "What!" when seeing Dr. Clyde's picture in the obituary section.
Immediately Ann my thoughts went out to you and Albert and I reflected on the pleasant memories shared over the years. I think it started with my sisters and I frequenting your Mom's store on Cobb's Hill for those delicious delectable goodies.
Then I thought about Clyde and the great progress he made with his educational path. Going away to school and returning as a Doctor.
You all were so proud and I rejoiced with you.
Clyde and I always exchanged greetings when ever, and where ever I saw him. I found him to be the perfect quiet gentleman, and the pro- of medical professionals - excuse my bias.
I will miss seeing him and being greeted with that winning smile. God be with you and give you strength, and peace to meet or surpass the future.

To the family and friends of Clyde, you have my sincere condolences.
It was a shock to learn of Clyde´s passing, and it´s difficult to reconcile my memory of his bright, infectious smile and his calm, encouraging spirit with this moment in time.
When Clyde and I would meet, whether in the offices or along the halls of the hospital, we would readily share our thoughts and feelings. I always came away a little wiser, convinced about why and how things could change for the better. Clyde had that effect.
Clyde was a believer in people, a true champion for those who were intellectually curious. He had the focus and tenacity to fight and create capacity so that others could shine.
Rest in peace Clyde, your legacy lives on through the results of your work.
Thank you Clyde!

I extend my deepest condolences to all who knew and loved Dr. Wilson.
I am forever grateful to him for his support in my early years as a pharmacist at BHB. He was excited to learn of my interest and experience in research, and before I knew it, I was involved in two consecutive studies that resulted in publications. I knew he didn´t need any more publications for his own CV, but he was always keen to promote the younger generation of professionals. He imparted invaluable wisdom and guidance during our many talks in his office. He also shared his enthusiasm for time pieces! I always told myself that if I ever owned a fine watch he´d be the first to know about it. He always had a positive word for me whenever we passed each other in the hallway outside his door.
Dr. Wilson, you are dearly missed and your legacy of professionalism, friendship, kindness and generosity certainly lives on in our memories.

I am devastated to hear of Dr Wilson´s passing. No longer will I hear him say, "Lady Asha" and share jokes and stories like old times. As a mentor and friend to me for many years, he left an indelible mark on my life- and countless others. We have suffered a great loss with your passing. I am thankful for his friendship, encouragement and guidance over the years. I am thankful he believed in me, pushing me to always strive towards my goals. I can only hope that I can garner some of his kindness, wisdom, humility, wit and genuine desire to help others along the way. A man of such high intellect, yet so relatable and down to earth. A man full of class, yet always able to tell and hear a good joke. A kind and gentle soul, loved by many who were fortunate enough to have known him. Dr. Wilson, I will miss you and I will carry your memory with me, always.
My deepest condolences and prayers for the family of Dr. Wilson.
May the God of all comfort be with you during these difficult days. May his treasured memory bring gladness in the midst of your sorrow.

Clyde, the news of your ill health and death came to me as a shock. But no one is God who alone knows our time here. You were a very wonderful colleague to know and be associated with. Your memories will forever be remembered in all our academic work and research together. You always wanted to know what is the status of multi drug resistance organisms in your beloved country. And how it can be detected and stopped. We will continue to drudge on to get the answers to your memory. Adieu my friend and colleague. Patrick Akpaka, The UWI. St. Augustine. Trinidad and Tobago.

I offer my sincerest condolescence to the Wilson family. I have worked several years with Dr. Wilson while he was Chief of Pathology and while I was a Senior in the Pathology Department. He always called me "Del" and he was very cordial to talk to. Constantly willing to support the workers in our Department and was very giving of his time and efforts to assist our fellow colleagues in any way he can. If something was required urgently, he usually would make himself available and at times go beyond the call of duty to accomplish the deed.
I am also acquainted with his mother, Sarah Ann Wilson so my wife Judith and I offer our deepest sympathy to the family.

All my condolences to the family of Dr Clyde Wilson
I am honoring the life and memory of my dear friend, whose presence in our lives has left an indelible mark. For nearly fifty years, our paths were intertwined, and I am profoundly grateful for every moment we shared.
Our story began when he arrived in England as a young student. Fresh from the airport, he sought guidance on living in this new country and found himself at my doorstep, where I was living with a fellow Bermudian. Roche´. It was a meeting that would change my life forever.
From the very first moment, we hit it off. There was something about his kindness, his thoughtfulness, and his unwavering sense of romance that made him stand out. Four years after that initial meeting, we found ourselves engaged, our hearts full of dreams for a shared future. Though life had other plans and we did not end up marrying, our bond never wavered.
His kindness was not just reserved for me but was a cornerstone of his character. He had a way of making everyone feel special, of seeing the best in people, and bringing out the best in them. His thoughtfulness was evident in the little things he did, the small gestures that showed he cared deeply and sincerely. He was very closed to my family and was the Godfather to my first neice, Shaenelle.
Even as our romantic journey took a different turn, our friendship only grew stronger. We spoke to each other at least three times a year, each conversation a reminder of the unique connection we shared. He was always there, a constant in my life, offering support, wisdom, and a listening ear.
As I stand here today, reflecting on the decades we spent as friends, I am reminded of his gentle spirit and the profound impact he had on everyone he met. He taught me the true meaning of friendship, of unconditional support, and the enduring power of love and kindness.
His departure leaves a void that cannot be filled, but his memory will live on in the hearts of all who knew him. Let us remember the laughter, the shared moments, and the deep bond that we all had with him. In our grief, let us also celebrate his life, his legacy, and the countless ways he touched our lives.
Rest in peace, my dear friend. Your journey here may be over, but your spirit will remain with us always.
Hazel .

My deepest condolences to the Wilson family and friends. Clyde and I first met as teenagers in the clinical laboratory of KEMH. I was a mere summer student back from University, whilst he was a full-time tech with 2 to 3 years under his belt already. Such notables as John Payne, Savannah Brown-DeVent, Ed Ball , and Pamela Martin-Clarke, among others were all there under the mentorship of the esteemed Dr. Keith Cunningham, KEMH's long serving chief pathologist.
We re-connected after Clyde returned to Bermuda and KEMH in the early 2000's, fresh from studying and working for over 20 years in the UK, armed with a PhD in microbiology. He had a keen intellect as well as a practical side and was intently interested in passing on his knowledge. He provided encouragement and mentorship to dozens of aspiring healthcare professionals who were fortunate enough to do summer internships at KEMH.
I recall our many "fireside chats" over the microscope while discussing cases in his office when I would drop by un- announced. Clyde had a sharp scientific mind and a keen wit, who gave of himself endlessly, and will be tremendously missed by all who knew him.
Rest in peace my friend.

So sorry to hear of Dr. Wilson´s passing.
My initial memories are from before I retired 13 years ago. He was friendly, with a pleasant smile when he greeted you.
Professionally he was well respected by all, so knowledgeable, yet humble. We were blessed to have opportunities to consult with him on infection control matters and other medical issues
During the years since, I received that same friendly greeting if I met him anywhere and we would have a nice little chat.
Rest in peace my friend. It was wonderful knowing you.
Condolences to the family.

My deepest condolences to Clyde's family. While his journey at Warwick Academy was ending as I entered, I remember him with fondness from those days, but more intensely as we became work colleagues. He was easily one of the kindest (and certainly the most humble) persons I have ever encountered. Generous to a fault, he always made you feel like the most important person in the room or on the phone. We have missed him for some time now and it is sad that it is now a permanent loss. May his kindness be returned to him 10 fold, and may he rest in well deserved peace

A man, who had much to offer and who in fact did offer, did share, and pushed those he loved, and those whose lives he did touch, to excel in all that they did. Clyde displayed his intellectual prowess in his multitude of publications. He assisted numerous students in their scholastic efforts, particularly at the post graduate level. Many graduate students associated with him in the UK have credited their success to his unwavering support and sound advice. His assistance in that realm spread across other international borders too. And when he arrived back home in Bermuda, we were definitely blessed to have him share his acumen and knowledge with us, especially in his work environment. It will be near impossible to replace this giant who was a visionary and who had a keen eye for spotting the extraordinary academic talent in others. He will be missed both by those he loved, his professional world and indeed the academic milieu of scientific research. He was a man who enjoyed fine wine, (other spirits too), fine dining and fine 'minds'.

A beautiful person to have gotten to know. He never made it known he was a doctor. He never made it be known that he had acquired knowledge far beyond what I could comprehend. He listened, had great conversation, and above all exercised patience and understanding. When he looked at me, he seemed to search my soul. I knew I had to be my authentic self.
He was witty, interesting, and loved a cool drink of Perrier. A classy, humble man. I am truly grateful to have met him.
May his beautiful soul rest in peace and memories of him live on in the hearts of those he touched.

My condolences to the Wilson family and friends. Clyde and I began a relationship when he arrived at WA high school in my 2nd or 3rd year. I took the initiative to befriend him n show him the ropes. After some time we became good friends and also his protector. I remember one time a student had pulled a chair from under him but I intervened n gave he a little roughing up. Clyde was not mechanically minded. One time we were in wood work class n I had to scald him as he was using a chisel as a screwdriver. We became closer as we spent some time at his house on Cobb's Hill. It was easy as I knew his mom n Pop Wilson years before. I was proud of his medical accomplishment and Im equally saddened by his passing, May he rest in peace and may the Spirit of God comfort you at this time of our saddness

To the Family of My Dear Friend Clyde and work Colleague. He was a trailblazer in his field of Pathology and helped countless students with research papers to getting them published, peeking others´ interest in medicine, helping others to get accepted into medical school in the West Indies. His successes are many and not enough space to mention here. He loved to celebrate his staff and department successes with good food, conversation and dessert. He was my friend and confidant and will surely be missed.
