Marijke, so sorry about your loss. I met George at the E55 in Rotterdam. I was 17 then and he made a lasting impression on me. Shortly after, I immigrated to the US and lost track of him. I am happy to read that he had a wonderful, productive and interesting life with you and your family.

To the Peterich Family,
I am saddened to hear of the passing of George. I remember him fondly as I reflect on the BAMZ/BZS festivities of years ago. I also treasure the photo that he took of me and my daughter 30 years ago, and has held a special place on our family wall for many years.
Kind regards and deepest condolences, Romelle Warner

George was such a champion of the BNG and of our collective work to make the collection, the exhibitions, the community reach, all meaningful. When I left, he encouraged my path into the commercial side of art and was always so supportive. He was such a dear delightful man. I am so fortunate to have known him! Big hugs to the Family. I send you my warmest condolences. xo Lisa

I love you opa snor. That is what we used to call him which means grandpa moustache. Opa you were the funniest man I knew and losing you was the saddest thing I´ve ever heard and it was so hard to say goodbye to you. When i saw you in the hospital for the last time it was terrifying but I got over it and sat next to you, you took my hand which I thought was impossible because you almost couldn´t move, well you took my hand and gave it a kiss and then placed it on ur heart. That was an incredible moment and I was so happy you still recognised me. You were the funniest man ever and you were always laughing as my dad said when he tried to find a photo of you looking neutral, but he couldn´t find one because a photo like that didn´t exist. Everytime you told a story or a joke you were eventually laughing the loudest and longest, but the moment someone else wanted to tell a story or a joke you fell asleep or said you had to grab something. But I loved listening to your stories. Everytime we got to Bermuda we were so jet lagged so we were always up at 4:00 and then you were in the kitchen baking breakfast while singing and you already went to the store to buy us lucky charms and you had breakfast yourself and also made oma a cup of tea and now you were also baking pancakes. Anyway, i am going to miss you so so much as well as the rest of your grandchildren. You were the best grandpa, father and husband ever. I love you.

He was my grandpa and I loved him so much. We used to call him opa snor which means grandpa moustache. He was the happiest man I ever knew and I was heartbroken when I heard the news. I am so lucky that I was still able to see him in the hospital before he died and he even gave me and my sister a kiss on our hand and he placed our hands on his heart which we thought was impossible because he was almost unable of moving, that was the last time i ever had an happy moment with him. Saying goodbye seemed way to hard for me but still I managed to do it. He was so funny and he would tell hour long stories or jokes and than after he was the one laughing hardest at them, but if you wanted to tell a joke he suddenly fell asleep or had to go get something. I will miss him so much and he was the greatest husband, father and grandfather. I love you opa.

One of the highlights of my years as Senior Curator of the BNG was working with George on the Bostlemann Paints for Beebe exhibition - initiated by George and designed by the talented Will Collieson. George's youthful exuberance was infectious- we all wandered around with smiles on our faces.

I had a second chance to work with George when he generously agreed to share a tiny portion of his eclectic private art collection in The Art of Collecting Art show.

Since I left Bermuda George and I stayed in touch by letter, email and the rare phone call. His enthusiasm never faltered. What a sad sad time to know he is gone - but never forgotten.

To all those who knew and loved George,

Like many others, I feel fortunate to have met George and to have been engaged in conversation about the mutual interests we shared - art and design being the topics about which we usually spoke. George was an exacting person who paid close attention to detail, and I appreciated his thorough and reliable knowledge of so many subjects. I extend sincere condolences to George´s loved ones, family members, and friends, and hope the many wonderful memories you have of time spent together will be of comfort to you now.

Dearest Marijke and family - it was with such sadness that I read of the loss of George. I couldn't help but remember with fondness all the lovely Bermuda Festival dinners in your home and George was always such a great host. Thank you for sharing him with us and I am so sorry for your loss.
