We have the fondest memories of David, the small blond Welsh boy who arrived late and in style on our first day at Hemel Hempstead Grammar school in 1960. In our first class, each boy had to announce themselves. Speaking in his broad Welsh accent, David said "I´m David Lampit from Fishguard National, Sir." The teacher asked him several times to repeat it, but still misunderstood. He repeated what he´d written down: David Lumpit from Fishguard. Everyone fell about laughing. David´s reputation and popularity were secured.
After school we were flat mates in London, trying hard to be adults, not always successfully. Careers took us in many directions around the world - David to Bermuda - but we were regularly in contact.
David was kind and outgoing, with a gift for friendship. Among many others, we became firm life-long friends.
We are both saddened at his passing, and offer our sympathies and condolences to everyone affected, especially his children, Hannah and Matthew.
We very much regret losing touch with David in later life.
We´ve attached our last photo of David taken at our last reunion in NYC.

Dear Hannah Matthew and family.
Our Deepest Condolences are with you all.
I met David many years ago when I worked at International Advisory Services. David was always cheery and helpful. Always walking through the office with a smiley Good Morning and ready to go. We had many conversations sharing stories about our children due to similar ages. I saw him in passing over the years and we would still have have our chats when we could.
I'm sadden to learn about David's passing. But I hope the many memories shared by family and friends give you comfort during this difficult time. Thoughts and prayers are with you all.

Sending my heartfelt condolences to David´s family. I had the pleasure of working with David twice in my working career. The first at Marsh as a young fella with a hippy long ponytail and down to earth demeanor and later as my manager at IAS, where he dressed to the nines in bow ties and vests and never got to work before 10am. Everyday was a fun day working with David. I saw him last maybe 2 years ago, I gave him a ride from the grocery store. I knew he had some challenges but I´m saddened none the less to learn of his passing. Unfortunately our team never got to have a lunch reunion. He loved his kids dearly. RIP Lampie.

A great friend, colleague, drinking buddy and fellow traveler. So many great memories over 45 years, almost to the day.
Sadness of your passing will fade but the memories will not.

Condolences to the passing of my friend David, so shocked when I saw this today. A man who was kind and always greeted you with a smile as he'd ride up on his much loved motorcycle. To his family, sorry for your loss
