Funeral for Delano "Duggie" Johnson, 81, of Decatur will be Saturday, December 6, 2014, at 2 p.m. at Ridout's Brown-Service Funeral Home with Bro. Jackie Kay and John Mullican officiating. Burial will be in Decatur City Cemetery. Visitation will be from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m. at the funeral home.

Mr. Johnson, who died Monday, December 1, 2014, was born March 4, 1933, in Morgan County to Howard and Della Mae Johnson. He graduated from Decatur High School in 1951 and was a longtime Decatur business owner. He was an avid hunter, fisherman, and had a love for animals, especially his dog, Shorty. Mr. Johnson was active in the community and helpful to many young people in the community by providing summer jobs. He was preceded in death by his parents; and sister, Myra Harding.

Survivors include his children, Susan Johnson, Sandra Johnson Waters (Greg), Jane Johnson Street, Jeff Johnson, Elizabeth Johnson Hall (Daniel), Michael Johnson (Lacey) and Brandon Johnson (Christie); grandchildren, Brent Moats, Dustin Atkins (Spring), Adam Atkins, Chelsey Street (Nick), Jordan Winchester, Bryson Johnson and Brylee Johnson; great-grandchildren, Noah and Luke Moats, Kaitlyn and Cooper Atkins and Cameron Gadson; brother, Johnny Johnson (Becky); and sister, Diane Layton.

Pallbearers will be Brent Moats, Dustin Atkins, Adam Atkins, Connie Woods, Jessie Williams and John Layton.

Honorary pallbearers will be Judge Bobby Day, Hayward Shelton, Johnny Johnson, John Mullican, Dean Justice, Jim Dinsmore and Pete Jones.
