A Celebration of Life service will be held for Douglas Kempe on Thursday, September 25, 2025, commencing at 4.00 pm at the Scout Hut at Admiralty Park. Douglas Kempe, 49, of Smith's, Bermuda, passed away on August 19, 2025, after a brief battle with cancer. Beloved spouse of Catherine and loving father of Max (16) and Rob (14), he is survived by his mother, Neil Kempe; his sister, Dawn (Thomas) Dunstan; his brother, Rick Kempe; his father-in-law, Max (Fran) Glover; his sisters-in-law, Kristina (Zach) Moniz and Anne (Jeff) Corcoran. He is also survived by numerous nieces and nephews: Kyra Dunstan, Camryn (Jamison) Percy, Jacob (Bella) Moniz, Ruth Moniz, Isaac Moniz, Joseph Moniz, Thomas Corcoran, and Billy Corcoran as well as aunts, uncles and numerous cousins. He was predeceased by his father, Richard "Dick" Kempe. Special thanks to Dr. Monica Hoefert, Dr. Ephraim Hochberg, and his entire care team at Mass General Hospital.Douglas was a devoted leader in the scouting community, serving as "Baloo" for the 19th Bermuda Cub Scouts, where he guided and inspired many young scouts with his warmth and dedication.The Celebration of Life service will be held on Thursday, September 25th, commencing at 4.00 pm at the Scout Hut at Admiralty Park, Pembroke. Entrance for the Scout Hut is from the North Shore entrance of the park. Please leave your ties at home as per Doug's request! Colours can be worn.
