Dylan Rieder Obituary
Rieder was born May 5, 1988, in Westminster, California. He began skating professionally at the age of 18 in Transworld Skateboarding’s 2006 video, “A Time To Shine.” He competed in the X Games from 2011 to 2013 and Street League Skateboarding from 2010 to 2013.
He was featured as a model in DKNY’s spring 2014 advertising campaign. He was also featured in the rock band Supreme’s video for their song “Cherry.”

He was well-respected in the skateboarding world and inspired many as he battled cancer.
“He was super influential; he’s probably the most influential younger skateboarder,” Transworld Skateboarding editor Blair Alley told GrindTV.
Friends and fans took to social media to pay tribute to Rieder.
In a Facebook post, Sharon Osbourne, the television personality and wife of rocker Ozzy Osbourne, called Rieder one of "the most beautiful, rare and talented" young men she has ever met. "You were so brave my darling. I send you a big hug & kiss. My heart goes out to the Rieder friends and family. Sleep now sweet prince."
Osbourne's husband took to Twitter to express his condolences on a special In Memoriam page: "Dylan Rieder. One of the most talent & brave men. I feel blessed to have known you. Rest In Peace Dylan. My love & condolences to his family"
Ozzy Osbourne's Twitter post included a photograph of the jubilant rocker standing next to Rieder, with his right arm wrapped around the shoulders of the smiling skateboarder and model.
Rieder is survived by his parents and sister.

its a very sad to hear that such a beautiful talented young man has passed away in such a horrible way.

To Dylan's family,
My heart is so heavy with sadness. What a numbing and piercing blow death leaves. Please accept my most sincere condolences. It is hard to believe that Dylan passed away...
He was the inspiration for a hero of a short fantasy book called , The Genie, the Pail and the Pinecone which I published in 2013. I never met Dylan. I discovered his picture in a skateboarding magazine. He had the face of a heroic boy who could time travel to Mesopotamia and save the civilization from a vilian. When you create a character, you need help inventing a person and Dylan was my inspiration. He embodied courage, empathy and strength. He will live on forever to me as Christian Templeton.
