God bless you family, we grieve with you in the departing of our friend, Elaine Josephine Stowe Harris. We were blessed to enjoy fellowship with both Ronald, Sr., and Elaine over the many years of our friendship, here in Norfolk, Virginia. Also it was our delight, when traveling to Bermuda via Carnival Cruise ship, to visit with Elaine who met us at the beautiful seashore & prepared a "lovely luncheon" on the beach. It has been my desire to revisit her again, there in Bermuda. She was always kind, gentle, poised, thoughtful, soft spoken, and patient with others. Ulysses & I were blessed to receive your family members in our home when she traveled to Virginia, for college/university events. Over the years, I have seen/learned about your wonderful careers/marriages/birth of children. She was so very proud of your accomplishments. I am grateful to be able to communicate with your family again via FaceBook. We will miss her, I expect to meet her in Heaven as the trumpet sounds @ that "Great gettin up morning". Kimberly, Melanie, Rochelle, Eddie and family my heartfelt condolences. It has been said that a teacher takes a hand, opens a mind and touches the Soul, as one of my favourite teachers and others at West Pembroke Primary School she did just that. I am ever so proud to be one of her students. May her teaching and her work in the church and the community be a mark in her legacy. I was always happy when we met and I would so proudly say to individuals see my teacher and she would jokingly reply and say now you are my teacher having taught her how to use her iPad in class and privately on her request. May your memories give you strength.

Elaine was a staunch supporter of the group, attending our performances throughout the island. We would look out into the audience and see her face shining with appreciation as we performed our many choral pieces.

It was a pleasure to interact with Elaine, mostly to discuss school matters. Always cheerful, always in tune with the education happenings in Bermuda.
Even though she had retired, there continued to be that connection to Bermuda's students.

Greetings to the children and family of Mrs. Harris. I was shocked a very sad to hear the news of her passing. Your mom, sister and grandmother was a lovely person who I knew for years as she taught our daughter at West Pembroke school. We would sometime meet in the grocery store on a Friday and shared conversations about our children. Be comforted knowing that she was a proud and caring parent with a pleasant personality. I will miss talking and seeing her but feel that God has given her eternal rest from this world. I will always think of her. Take care and be strong!!!
