Elystan Reynold Aubrey

Elystan Reynold Aubrey 1961 - 2025Elystan "ER" Aubrey, 63, passed away on September 14th in Marietta, Georgia, under hospice care.ER was born in Bermuda to Diane York Aubrey and Elystan Reynold Aubrey, Sr. He lived on the island until he was nineteen, when a van struck him in the reversible lane on East Broadway while he was driving his moped to work at the family jewelry store. After months in a coma, with great effort and determination and the help of dedicated professionals, ER slowly regained the use of his body and was able to live independently for many years near his mother and grandparents in New Hampshire.ER's accident and subsequent law suit were partly responsible for changes to East Broadway that did away with the reversible lane and made driving to and from Hamilton safer.Those who knew ER enjoyed his generous spirit, his playful sense of humour and his kind heart. In later years, he experienced health challenges but rarely complained. ER was an inspiration to all of us and is greatly missed by his loving mother, Diane York Aubrey, sister Kim Aubrey Klement (Joseph Klement), brother Mark Aubrey (Meg Kelleher Aubrey), half-brother Bryce Aubrey, nieces, Kristine Klement (Jessica Park) and Kathryn Klement (Jonathan Wragg), and nephews, Matthew Aubrey (Jamie), Michael Aubrey (Danielle Smith Aubrey), and Max Aubrey (Valeria Metzgen Castro Aubrey), along with other relatives and friends.A celebration of life will be held at a later date.
