Eugene was one of the greatest men to walk this earth. Not only was he an amazing husband and father, but he was also selfless to all who knew him. Gene had a genuine heart, and you saw his love for everyone. I knew Gene growing up and worked with him down the airport. He beemed with pride talking about his daughters. I spoken to him a month a go and he shared his eldest daughter was getting her Doctorial Degree Jena, Lindsey matched his giving heart, he said, and was a Senator. Courtney had just been promoted in the police force, and Kara was his favorite. I laughed when he said this. He said he joked a lot, but she was special and gave birth a couple of months ago, and the baby looked like him. He said of course this is my rock and pointed to Maureen. You will be missed Gene-Boy as I called him.

Eugene Simmons known to me as Uncle Gene was the most amazing and kind man to me as a child growing up. He and my Dad, Dennis Wilson Sr were really good friends back in the day. To Aunt Maureen and family my heart aches for you. Uncle Gene was a great man and I am so sorry for your loss. May God provide you all with comfort and strength as you navigate this new life. I will hold you all in thought and prayer. Rest peacefully Uncle.

Dear Maureen and family,
I am so sorry for your loss. Gene was simply one in a million. His energy was beyond infectious and always had me laughing nonstop. More importantly than any of that was the fact that when you were with him, he made you feel like the most important person in the room, and not a lot of people can do that. I always enjoyed Gene. We had similar personalities and just got along. Of course I wish we spent more time together with all of you guys, but sometimes it just doesn´t work out that way.
