Dear Family,
My husband and I were shocked to find out about Eugene's passing when we returned from abroad. He always looked in such good health whenever we would see him over the years. I will always remember how his face would light up when we called out to him in passing and when we did stop to talk, how he would gently hold my hand while he filled us in on what he had been up to. His kind and gentle presence will be sorely missed in our community. May God bless and comfort you during this sad time.

Eugene was our good friend - he had the gentlest spirit and always made me feel so important whenever I saw him. I became accustomed to his hangouts and would periodically seek him out - he was always so positive. Once his hustle with VK came to an end I would give him a few dollars here and there and I will never forget the day that he chased me half way down front street with a $50 in his hand saying that he was working again and wanted to repay me... I was completely blown away. My only regret was that I never followed through with my thought to pick him up and take him to church with my wife and I.. Firstly to get to know the lord but secondly, we were so sure that one of the ladies there would have snapped him up to be a husband!! he was such a tall good looking man. We were saddened to hear that he had passed away and extend our deepest condolences to the family.

I was so very sorry to hear of Eugenes passing. He was such a gentle & meek man, with a very sweet & humble spirit. He was always so appreciate of any help or kindness shown to him. The last time I spoke with him, I told him that I missed seeing him at our community meal and he assured me he would be back soon. I wish I had more time to spend with him - he was a sweet soul who had much love to share. So thankful to have met and known him. Even though Ive known him for less than 3 years, I feel deep loss at his death. It broke my heart to hear he had passed, and wish I had done more. We can learn many life lessons from him. Rest In Peace Eugene. You will not be forgotten.

Sorry for your loss .Eugene was a lovely person,very plesant manners,everytime he saw me he said hi marl have a nice day,I would say do you want anyyhing to eat he would said no Thank you ,never ask me for money.R.I.P Eugene.
