I was so very sorry to hear of George's passing. He was a legendary force of a man who was always so kind. I fondly recall the time he taught me how to process cassava root - lots of laughs. He also came to my rescue, twice, when I was burgled! My deepest condolences to his family.

George and I were on the same course at the Bermuda Police Training School way back in 1973. In fact, as the course photo shows, we were standing next to each other on the back row. Little did I know at the time that he would rise to the head position in the the Police in the years to come. I never worked with, or under George, during my police career. However, we did team up together at a course reunion many years later. I found George to have never changed from being an affable down to earth man with a ready smile and a positive word to say. He kept himself in good physical shape and I always regarded him as being a keen athlete, with good self discipline. I was therefore sad to hear of his long battle of illness in his later years and of his most recent passing. He was a good man in every sense of the word. He will be missed by his family, friends and colleagues I am certain. God bless you, George.

To the Jackson family, I extend condolences to you on the passing of George. As a former colleague , I was privileged to see his professional and sporting achievements that cannot be erased. He was truly a man among men. Yet it was his pride in family that resonated with me. None more so than when hearing that deep voice call for "Allon!" To Sharon and family, on behalf of my family, we extend our condolences on the passing of George, our community gardener. We watched as George and his able and like minded friends, tilled the soil and reaped the best harvest. We then watched as he continuously donated vegetables throughout the community. He would not accept even 1 dollar towards the cost of his efforts. He is sorely missed by those of us who visualize his physical presence every day when we pass his beloved garden. Sharon and Family,
I´m saddened to learn of George´s passing. Over the years I saw so many of George´s attributes: as a father and family man; as an athlete; as a sportsman during our several years playing competitive softball together; as a community minded person and as a professional colleague and friend. I will never forget his loyalty and devotion to task when he was the Deputy Commissioner of Police when I served. Such a champion of so many things - he will be missed by the community, his colleagues and most of all, his family.
