I had the privilege to meet George on a cricket tour from UK in 1990. He organised our matches, took a couple of us to the Kensington Oval to see England get a thrashing in and then introduced me to a number of West Indian cricket legends (including Sir Wes Hall, Malcolm Marshall and Desmond Haynes). I then had the dubious pleasure to face his bowling in our first match at Pie Corner, St. Lucy and the much more enjoyable experience of dining with his wife and daughter in Bridgetown with the rest of our tour party. I returned to Barbados on a number of occasions in 2000-2010 and attempted to track him down but was told he had returned to The Bahamas and from there the trail went cold! Sadly, I had no idea it was Bermuda and frustratingly have a friend who travels to Bermuda regularly and might have helped me in my search. So, it is only now that I am able to finally find the whereabouts of this wonderful man. I am sad that I never managed to meet him once more in person but it is wonderful to read the sentiments of others who knew this wonderful man I got to know for such a short time. My belated condolences to his family and RIP dear friend, George.

GEORGE WAS A CLIENT IN MY DAY CARE PROGRAM HE WAS KNOWN AS THE DANCING KING. HE AND I WOULD DANCE EVERY WHERE WE WENT. PEOPLE WOULD STOP AND CLAP FOR HIM. HE BROUGHT A SMILE TO MANY. I USED DANCING AS HIS THERAPY WHEN HE SOMETIMES WOULD'NT WANT TO COMPLY WITH SOMETHING. EVERYONE LOVED GEORGE'S PERSONALITY AND HIS ZEST FOR LIFE ALWAYS HAPPY AND SMILING. AS SOON AS HE SAW ME NO MATTER WHERE WE WOULD BE HE WOULD START DANCING, HE WAS KNOWN AS THE DANCING KING. I WILL MISS HIM SO MUCH, REST EASY MY DANCING KING.

My Condolences to Mrs. Rock .& family. Memories of Mr. Rock are so many. When we first met George we just hit it off. He was a happy person with such energy and loved to dance. When ever we were out he would be recognized and folks would have a chat. I recall one day I had car problem and a gentleman stopped to assist us a took us to our destination, As we were driving along. There is much talking of the good old days , Having seen him He said it brought back good memories .
Mr. Rock will be truly remembered as a good spirited person that can always cheer you up, he had a good heart.
I was honored to have met him and his family and been his career we enjoyed our time together , I will miss our drives and funny moments. especially the dance moves.

Dear Anita and Katrina and the Williams-Rock family, please accept our heartfelt condolences for the loss of your dear, kind hearted, charismatic husband and father.
We all have many cherished memories of George, that will sustain us for a lifetime. Always had a smile to share to others. Also he would disp!ay a few dance steps that brought much joy and smiles to his audience. He was a kind hearted and respected gentleman which we loved to have in our midst at the Pembroke SDA Church.
We pray that God will continue to draw near to you Anita and family and give you His peace. Our thoughts and prayers will be forever with you. One day you will see George again on the sea of glass, hold onto the Hope of the Lord's return.
Cast your cares upon God for he cares for you, and will not give you more than you can bear. God loves you ! Be blessed !

To Anita and the entire Rock/Williams families
We were so sorry to hear of George's passing. Our thoughts and prayers are with you. He was a gentleman and was also very respectful. The last time you brought George to the house, his actions clearly showed us that he loved cricket. He was amazing,
May the good Lord provide solace to each and every one of you. Cherish the moments you shared. They will greatly assist you during this difficult time.
Be encouraged!

Sincerest condolences to Anita and family.
I first met George in 1974 in Barbados when he stopped to give me a ride in his car, so I could get to school. We would link up again many years later in Bermuda, in the 1990s, playing cricket for the West Indian Association, later renamed Spring Garden Cavaliers in the Commercial League. Well into his 60s, he was still opening the bowling for the team and generating quite a lively pace. We were together at the crease on many occasions batting for the team, in the closing stages of the innings, trying to stave off defeat or reach the victory target. He was the perfect partner to have in those situations. Calming and encouraging as he coached you through every ball, and rotated the strike. I can still hear him, 'Youngster, every ball on its merits, and we will get home'. More often than not, we did get home with the win.
On behalf of all your former teammates, rest in peace, our Friend. You left us with so many fond memories which we shall forever cherish. So long, until we meet again, on that Great Day.
