Man, I can't believe that our Big Cousin Andre is gone; he was the one always looking out for us young'uns! I'll miss the times that we would stop each other in the street to say "Hi", and then end up chopsin' for a good 15-30 minutes! I'll deeply miss him.

It's still so unreal to me that Andre is gone. We've been friends since we were children attending Bethel AME together and from day one, with my maiden name as Bean, it was automatically assumed that we were cousins. So we spent all our lives addressing each other as, "Hey Cuz"...until I gave him a nickname that only he ever heard me call him. We attended a church dance and Andre and I were dancing together and he kept stepping on my feet! I told him he was a sloppy dancer and from that day on I called him "Slop" He was such a kind guy with a gentle spirit and I eventually got to work with him at Corrections and we would spend time talking about the good old days and how things had changed over the years. I don't know if his dancing ever improved but may he rejoice and have the time of his life in heaven - dancing any way he wants to! He will be sorely missed.

I first met Gerald at westgate correctional and I remember thinking to myself this is an intelligent and knowledgeable officer. I was greatful for Gerald who shared his knowledge of the job and gave his advice.

We were both shocked and saddened to hear of the passing of Andre who we knew when he was a youngster attending Bethel AME Church with our daughters Andre matured into a fine, respectable, hardworking man who greeted everyone with his signature winning smile and sealed his sincere love with a warm hug.
His marriage to his beautiful wife, Lynn, further proved that Andre was a man with a determined future as the two of them worked so closely together. I take this moment to salute Lynn for the journey that she has travelled and to assure her that we empathize with her and the remaining members of her family as they travel this valley of grief.
It was a pleasure to work with Andre as a former Prison Officer who could be singled out as a model Officer in his role.
May he continue to rest in eternal peace.

Our sincere condolences to the entire Bean family. We were deeply saddened to hear of Andre's Passing. Bails and Andre have been good friends since Robert Crawford days, and he was even in Andre's wedding. They also worked together in his retired years at English Sports Shop. He will be greatly missed. Our prayer is that God will wrap his loving arms around Lynn, Andrea and the entire family, and that he will bring comfort in the days and nights ahead. Hold onto the great memories you had with Andre. Hold onto Gods unchanging hand, and know that earth has no sorrow that heaven cannot heal. Know that you are in our thoughts and prayers.

Dear Lynn, Andrea, Wilbur, Steven and Family, I am deeply saddened to hear of Andre´s passing! It was only the other day I saw him and he shared with me that he had been struggling with health issues! I met Verna, Andre, Steven and Wilbur at the age of 11 when my family moved to Collectors Hill, right across the road from the Bean family Homestead on Cotswold Lane. As kids we all used to play together and when I returned to live on Collectors Hill with my own young family some years later, my friendship with Andre and the family resumed and I had the pleasure of meeting and getting to know his lovely wife Lynn, and their dear daughter Andrea. Andre was always such a kind man, a good friend and a wonderful neighbor; a true gentleman! I am heartbroken for the family and extend my love, my prayers and my deepest condolences to you all and especially to Lynn and Andrea! You are in my thoughts and prayers! Sue Lusher

To my Cousin Andre's wife, daughter, and brothers: As one of my younger, first cousins, I watched Andre grow up. He was always respectful, a quiet thinker, reliable, and kind, and always had a big smile when he first saw you. Although we didn't see one another often, when we did, we easily got caught up on what was happening in our lives. Sad to say, the last time I saw him was last Feb. at Aunt Eloise's repast...true to form - he lit the room up with his smile, as he greeted me and all our relatives. He is already a big miss to our family.
We pray that your many memories of him provide comfort to you now and the coming days.
