HATTIE CURTIS Obituary

In Loving Memory of Hattie Winifred Curtis (July 25, 1934 – September 22, 2025)
With hearts full of love and gratitude, we honor the extraordinary life of Hattie Winifred Curtis, a woman whose presence was a gift to all who knew her. Hattie was born on July 25, 1934, in Paget Parish, Bermuda, into the loving arms of her parents, the late Ina Bean Curtis and Clifford St. George Curtis. From her earliest days, she embodied a spirit of joy, resilience, and compassion that would define her life. Hattie was the beloved daughter, cherished sister, devoted mother, doting grandmother, and a friend to countless others. She leaves behind her surviving sister, Inez Curtis, and joins her late brothers, Clifford, Leonard, Edmund, and Edgar Curtis, as well as her sister, June Curtis, in eternal rest. As a young woman, Hattie's vibrant personality and unwavering kindness made her a cherished friend and confidante. Her warmth and generosity knew no bounds, and she had a remarkable ability to make everyone she encountered feel seen, valued, and loved. Her smile was a beacon of light, her laughter a melody that filled every room she entered. Hattie's heart was fullest when she was surrounded by her family. She was the devoted mother of Dinell Bean, whom she raised with boundless love and wisdom. As a grandmother, she was a guiding light to Rasheed, Dinell Jr., Dontae, Dy'nera, Donnell, Denasia, Damir, Nabila, Dimari, and Osiris, showering them with affection, life lessons, and laughter. Her love extended to countless nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends, who will forever carry her memory in their hearts. Throughout her life, Hattie was a woman of service. In her later years, she dedicated herself to volunteering, finding purpose and joy in giving back to her community. Whether she was lending a hand at pink lady's, attending community events, or simply offering a listening ear, Hattie's selflessness left an indelible mark on those around her. She believed in the power of kindness and lived by the principle that even the smallest act of compassion could change someone's life. Hattie was a woman of faith, strength, and wisdom. She approached life with an unshakable optimism and a deep sense of gratitude. Hattie's legacy is one of love, laughter, and light. She was a source of enlightenment, teaching those around her the importance of resilience, kindness, and the power of a smile. Her life was a testament to the beauty of giving and the joy of living fully. Though she has left this earthly plane, Hattie's spirit will forever remain in the hearts of those who loved her. Her memory will be cherished, her life celebrated, and her impact felt for generations to come. Rest in eternal peace, dear Hattie. Your light will forever shine brightly in our lives. A celebration of Hattie's life will be held on Sunday, October 5th, 2025, at 11 am at Amis Funeral Home, located on Khyber Pass in Warwick Parish. All who knew and loved her are invited to come together to honor her remarkable legacy. "Those we love don't go away; they walk beside us every day." We invite friends and family to share stories, memories, and tributes to Hattie during the service. Hattie Curtis will be deeply missed but never forgotten. Her love and light will continue to guide us, and her memory will forever be a blessing. Live streaming by (www.youtube.com/jrocbda)

To the family of Hattie Curtis. I met Hattie when she was at Purvis Park and also know her from her niece Gloriette. She would not let me call her Ms. Curtis. Hattie she'd say to me, call me Hattie. I told her as long as my momma wasn't around. When my mother left Purvis Park, Ms. Curtis would ask how she was when we happen to see each other. I am truly sorry for your loss. You have my sincere condolences and prayers
