I'm sad to hear of 'uncle Macky's' passing. He was huge, in stature, in voice and in family story telling. I'll never forget him skiing in Santa Fe ski basin, NM, when he came down a hill full speed and couldn't stop. He had to take a breaking lane and never fell and had never skied before. He was like that brave and keen to take on a challenge in many aspects of life. My condolences to his sons and family.

To the family of Mr. Herbert Mcneil Simons,
On behalf of the Whitney Institute Family, I would like to extend my condolences to Denton, Mark, Paul, and the entire Simons family on the passing of Mr. Simons, who was an honorary life member of the Whitney Institute Board of Trustees. We have fond memories of Mr. Simons contribution to education while serving on the Board. Most of all we remember the stories he would tell us about his life as a young man navigating the Bermuda of a bygone era. He would eagerly share with us about the people he worked for as a young man, the political climate of the day, and so many other stories of antiquity.
We treasure the memory of Mr. Simons and trust that the family finds tremendous consolation in that he made a significant contribution to Bermuda and impacted many people's lives.

My deepest sympathy to the family of Mr. Herbert Simons.
I have fond memories of this larger than life gentleman from my childhood years. With his booming voice and jovial greeting he'd visit our Swainson/Bascome household on Water Street to collect and/or deliver clothes. Much laughter and noisy banter with my family would follow and then he'd jump in his van and be off! Seeing his face in the obit column, though sad to see, brought a smile to my face as I remembered this great man. Rest in peace Mr. Simons and thanks for the happy memories.

Condolences to the Simons family and to Mr. Simons' friends. It always brought a smile to my face to see Mr. Simons and his friends - such productive, positive elder men - gather regularly to catch up, reminisce, laugh...
May he now rest in peace with his beloved.
