AUGUSTUS FUNERAL HOME regrets to announce the passing of Rev. James Hilgrove Vallis Todd A home-going service for Rev. JAMES HILGROVE VALLIS TODD, beloved father to Lionel Todd and Jacquelyn (Harry) Grant, husband of the late Vera Todd, son of the late Octquia Burke, brother to Eugene and John Todd, Nedra Cooke, Sharon Langley, Evie (Ginny) Neud, in his 94th year, of # 79 South Road, Paget, will be held at Evening Light Church, Parsons Road, TODAY Tuesday, December 15th, 2009 at 2:00 p.m. Interment will be held at Pembroke Parish Cemetery. Relatives and friends may pay their last respects at Evening Light Church, Parsons Road, TODAY Tuesday, December 15th, 2009 from 1:00 p.m. - 1:55 p.m. Flowers may be sent. Also surviving are grandchildren Crystal and Ibe Todd, Nigel Lee, Lyneisha Lee; great-grandchild Lakshmi Magon; sister-in-law Carolyn Elenor Todd; special friends Barbara Millett, Dorothy Swan, Mary Lynch, Betty Simmons, Royal Gazette Family, Coral Cleaners Family, Church of God of Prophecy, Erna Degraff, Pastor Dwayne and Judy Simons, Pastor Alton Thompson.

I purchased my morning paper from the Rev. Todd for more years than I can remember. No matter what the weather he was always there. The exchange of morning words was a delight.

To: The family of the late Reverend James Todd: Warm Christian Greetings! I was sorry to hear about the death of your father. Please accept my condolences.

I have known your father since I was a little boy living at Friswell's Hill. He was a cobbler at the time. Since then, he has served the community in various capacities.

Your father was well known in Bermuda and made his contribution to the Island. He was known as the minister who faithfully sold newspapers and rode a pedal bike. He will be missed.

May the Presence of God comfort you during this time of loss.

I met Rev. Todd many years ago as a child. He was always a kind and open man with a smile for everyone. I hope his family can take solace in the fact that he was so respected in Bermuda.
