JEROME PERRY Obituary

Mr. Jerome Kern Perry, age 63, of Toccoa, passed away Monday, January 23, 2012 at Stephens County Hospital. Born March 31, 1948 in Paget, Bermuda, he was the son of John and Estella Perry. He was an Accountant with Novartis, a pharmaceutical company. Family members include a daughter and son-in-law, Tatyana and Tracy Claytor of Vero Beach, FL; a daughter, Ilona Perry of Los Angeles, CA; and a brother, Terrance Perry of Toccoa, GA and many family members in Bermuda and the United States. He was proceeded in death by a brother, John Franklin Perry. A memorial service was held at 4 pm on Friday, January 27, 2012 at Grace Baptist Church in Eastanollee, GA. Dr. Bob Claytor officiated. Memorial contributions may be made to the G.E.D. program at North Georgia Technical College, attn: Adult Education, P.O. Box 65, Clarkesville, GA 30523 for: Jerome Perry GED Scholarship Fund.

Very sad news! Gerry was a lovely guy and he and his family were especially kind to me when I first joined the Bermuda Police in 1968. I spent many a happy Sunday afternoon at his Paget home playing pool on the worlds most bumpy table and eating kale soup and pot roast cooked by his father John. Gerry and I also attended the 1972 Munich Olympics with (the late,great) Russell Paynter. Many happy memories - most of which will now remain eternally confidential! I will always remember Gerry as a warm, happy, young man with a love of bacardi and coke. Condolences to Terry and Gerry's daughters!

I am writing on behalf of the Bermuda Ex-Police Officer's Association to send our deepest condolences to Jerry's family. Jerry served in the Bermuda Police from 1967 – 1971 and will be fondly remembered by all of us who worked with him. Particular condolences to his brother Terry who also served with us in the Force.

I was a good friend of his daughter Illona when she served in the Bda Police Service for a short while but unfortunatley we lost touch once she left.. It was many years ago that I worked with Jerome as a young Policeman in the local service....He was a quiet and dedicated Policeman and a person that one could always look to for some good advice and direction...My sincerest condolences to the family....God promised that Weeping would endureth for a night,but Joy cometh in the morning...May He Bless each of you at this time with His promise of that Joy.....
