JOAN PARADINE

The Paradine family is sad to announce the passing of JOAN PARADINE in Canada on the 25th of February 2024. Joan was well known in the community in Bermuda but perhaps was best known as Mrs Paradine at Saltus Cavendish where she was the school secretary for many years. Joan would go to school early every day and be a kind face to children as they got out of their car to come into school. At entrance interviews she would look after the children while their parents spoke with the principal and she would make sure that all children were welcomed to the Saltus family with love. There are still many parents with children at Saltus today who remember Mrs Paradine greeting them when they were young. Joan had a particular penchant for tea so we would like to invite the community to Saltus Cavendish on the 20th of April between 2 and 4pm to have a cup of tea in celebration of Joan and the many young people's lives she touched. For those unable to attend we would welcome donations to PALS in Bermuda in her name.The tea will be served in the gym in the old school hall at the top of the hill where Mrs Paradine's office was for many years. Though it is sad to lose Joan we know she gave love to her own children and grandchildren and hundreds of other young people and we should celebrate that our lives were touched by the beautiful soul that she was.
