JOHN ADAMS Obituary
We regret to announce the death of Mr. John (Jack) Adams, in his 88th year, of Locust, New Jersey. Jack was born in Bermuda, the youngest son of the late Mr. and Mrs. Henry Coolidge Adams of "Springfield", Paget. Jack attended Saltus Grammar School, where he was Head Boy, and Columbia University. He settled in the United States and had a successful career as a financial analyst in Manhattan. Bermuda and his Bermudian friends held a special place in his heart, and he returned each year to visit them. To him, Bermuda was always home. Jack is survived by his wife, Ellen, his daughters, Ann (Didi) Royal and Mary Minturn Barnett, and grandchildren, Christopher and Elizabeth Royal. He is also survived by nieces and nephew, Louise Reider, Betty Fulton, Susie Adams, and John Adams. He was predeceased by his brothers, Scarritt, Coolidge, and Thatcher. A private service will be held in New Jersey, followed by a memorial service in the Spring. Donations may be made in Jack's memory to the Saltus Alumni Association, or to the Bermuda Maritime Museum.
