AUGUSTUS FUNERAL HOME regrets to announce the passing of Mr John Wesley "Sonny" Phipps.A home-going service for Mr John Wesley "Sonny" Phipps, husband of the late Edwina Phipps, son of the late Charles and Catherine Phipps, loving father of Anthony (Angella) Phipps Sr, the late Evola Earl and the late John Leslie Phipps, brother to Margaret Postlethwaite, Dorothy Tucker, Roslyn Sheppard (USA), Charles (Collette) Phipps (USA), in his 86th year, of Hillview Estate, Warwick will be held at Christ Church Devonshire TODAY, October 4, 2016 at 1pm. Interment will follow at St John's Cemetery.Flowers may be sent. May (Sir ) John Phipps rest in peace. He will always be remembered as a straight , forward thinking progressive black Bermudian .

His legacy was communicating to many young black males about the importance of empowering financial literacy, as a nonsense but very fair Planning Inspector.
