Uncle Jay was a good uncle for all of us. He was always interested in my school work and I always valued his opinion since he had obtained a college degree in Electrical Engineering from MS State on the GI bill. He was always interested in his family and how everyone was doing. While his Mother, our Grandmother was alive, he would come down to visit with her at least once a year. He would also come to visit Daddy when he was sick. I recall Uncle Jay helping us dig sweet potatoes on one of his visits to see us. The last time I saw Uncle Jay was back in '97, just after his son Mark passed away. Mother and I went down to see him and Carol, one of his daughters. I had spoken to Uncle Jay in the phone several months ago. He was always enjoyable to talk to.

I feel blessed to have had him as an Uncle...Denny...

Dear Sweet Uncle Jay,
I'm so sorry that you have gone but know you are in haven now. My heart is broken for the unwritten letters that were alwys in my heart for you. You were the best uncle in the world. I feel so blessed and thankful to have you in my life. Thank you for all the sweet kind things you did for me and everyone else. I am so happy to have such wonderful memories of you. God bless your children and all those that loved you so much. Mama is in the hospital and I just don't know how I will tell her. I truly thank God that He let you be "My Uncle Jay". Thank you, thank you, thank you.
With All My Love Forever,
Anita & Family
