My best friend, sole mate, and husband of 56 years was an amazing man ! He accomplished a great deal during his 81 years of life, and he was a driving force to many people whose lives he touched very profoundly. His greatest love was for his family. He was a devoted husband, father, and grandfather who set high standards for his children and grandchildren, and for many of their friends. The most important features of his legacy are his warm, outgoing, friendly, infectious personality, his free spirit, his generosity, and his genuine love of life. He was 'a sheep in lion's clothing', 'bigger than life', a 'leading beacon', and 'the wind beneath our sails'. The huge number of people who attended his Celebration of Life Service and the Reception following, attested to the high esteem in which he was held in many walks of life. Our family will never be the same without him, but we will carry on positively in honour of our undying love for him; and we will be comforted by the fact that he now has the eternal peace he wanted and so deserved. RIP dear Hooksie - you will continue to be loved for ever and ever !
