Hearing of Kathy's passing is such sad news.
When Kathy arrived in Bermuda coming from a small farming village in the North Canadian prairies she didn't know what the future held but with her expertise and work ethic she ended up being referred to as the finest surgical operating room nurse Bermuda ever had.
Long after her retirement it was an honor to walk through the wards with her if she was visiting someone and hear the staff respectfully greet her as 'Nurse Madeiros' .
Kathy was a super mom , grand mother , aunt and friend.
My sincerest condolences go out to Brian , Karen and Donald and her nephews Michael , Stephen and Dr Andrew and also to her long time best friend Beth.
