Linda Bell Obituary
Decatur
Funeral service for Mrs. Linda Bell, 69, of Decatur, will be Monday, October 7, 2013, at 7 p.m. at Parkview Baptist Church with the Rev. Todd Evans and Brother Nicky Pressnell officiating. The family will receive friends on Monday, October 7, 2013, from 5 p.m. until 7 p.m. at the church. Interment will be in Decatur City Cemetery on Tuesday at 10 a.m.
Mrs. Bell, who died on Friday, October 4, 2013, at Decatur Morgan Hospital, was born February 29, 1944, in Morgan County to Ottie Newsom and Myrtle Margret Hudson Newsom.
She is survived by her husband, James Leon Bell; two sons, Alan Bell and James (Len) Bell and wife Michelle; daughter, Catherine Ratliff and husband Joseph, all of Decatur; six grandchildren, Brandi, Christina, Summer, Taylor, Ellie, and Ethan; two great-grandchildren, Clayton and Harley; two brothers, Bobby Newsom and wife Margaret of Decatur, and Ottie Newsom and wife Jeanne of Priceville; two sisters, Margaret Hamilton of Trinity and Becky Johnson and husband Bob of Decatur; and a host of extended family and friends.
Mrs. Bell graduated with honors from Athens State College. She received two Masters Degrees from UAB. She taught with love at Calhoun College, Crossroads, and West Morgan. She took joy in life from caring for and loving her children and grandchildren.
Special thanks to Dr. Lobo, Julie, and the caring team at the Cancer Care Center.
Pallbearers will be family.
