Madeleine Lebeau Obituary
Her stepson, filmmaker Carlo Alberto Pinelli, told The Hollywood Reporter that she had died in Spain. It is widely believed that she was the last surviving cast member of "Casablanca."
The French actress played the jilted girlfriend of Rick in the legendary film. Rick was played by Humphrey Bogart. She is featured in the scene where the patrons of Rick’s Cafe sing a patriotic version of “La Marseillaise” while the Germans are singing their own patriotic song. She is seen singing “La Marseillaise” while tears well up in her eyes as the French citizens drown out the singing of the Germans.

Lebeau and her first husband fled Paris in 1940. Her first Hollywood role was in the movie “Hold Back the Dawn,” which starred Olivia de Havilland. She also appeared in "Gentlemen Jim" with Errol Flynn.
After the end of World War II, Lebeau moved back to France, where she continued her acting career in her native country.

It is truly a blessing Madeleine lived a long life because so many people will never see her age. It reminds me of Psalms 90:10 which tell us how our life span is 70 years or 80 if one is especially strong. Cherish her memories forever in your heart.
