Maria Smith Obituary

Bulley-Graham-Rawlins Funeral Home announces the Celebration of Life Service for MARIA THERESA EVERS SMITH.The service will take place at St. Patrick's Church in Smith's Parish on Thursday, November 20th, 2025, at 2.00pm, with the interment to follow at St. John's Church in Pembroke. Maria was an avid artist, and her art was a reflection of her soul. To honor her creative spirit, we invite attendees to wear bold and beautiful colors that were her signature. She was predeceased by her parents Ludwig and Paula Evers; and her son Gordon Timothy Smith. She is survived by her loving husband Edward Gordon Smith; two daughters Paula Wight (John) and Heidi Louise Smith; grandchildren Catherine Gillett (Will), and Sarah Thomson (Kenny), and proud great-grandmother to Grace, Luca, and Isla. Maria is also survived by her brother Paul Evers (Maggie); sister-in-law Barbara Evers; and numerous loving nieces; nephews; and friends. We are beyond grateful for the tender care and love shown to Maria by Nurse Mary and all the staff at Easter Lily Nursing Home. Your kindness, care, and love for our Maria have meant the world to our family.In lieu of flowers, the family kindly requests donations be made to Dementia Bermuda. Uncle Ed, Polly, Heidi and family,

I am so sorry to hear about Aunt Maria's passing. I wish I could be there with you today. My most recent memories of her are all the email stories and updates she would send to all of us. I saved a bunch of them in a notebook. She was such a wonderful writer, in addition to all her other talents. Hope to see you all soon! Love to all!

Dear Ed, Polly & Heidi,
My deepest sympathy for the loss of Maria. I have so many happy memories of her. How lucky was I to grow up next door to you all?! I still have some of the shells that Maria and my mother collected, and one of their plaques. And I have continued to collect... their creative spirit lives on!
