With sincere condolences to the entire Tatem Family. Aunt Mavis as we called her at H.A.& E. Smiths will surely be missed. She always wore a cheerful smile and had a humble spirit. Her kind words of wisdom were truly appreciated. May she Rest In Peace; and to her loving family remember the awesome memories shared.

Please accept my condolences - I didn't know your mom, but a friend and I used to take our walks past her house a few times a week and we always got a kick out of seeing her on her front porch - we loved to guess what color track suit she would have on that day and she always made us smile.

Was saddened to hear of Aunt Mavis' passing. I will surely miss her bubbly spirit and laughter. I will always remember when my sister June and I stopped by to visit her on the Bermuda Day holiday (my birthday) and June referred to me as Queen (my nickname ) and she told me there is only one Queen-her! I instantly laughed. I said well now we have two Queens! Aunt Mavis was a blessing to all her family and friends. I will definitely miss her homemade fudge. I always looked forward to our Chuch fair in February as my mom Carolyn Saltus and later my sister Joy would ask her to make some for the bake sale table!
To Aunt Mavis ' family may you be comforted by the loving memories you have of Aunt Mavis and know that she is resting in peace in the arms of our Lord.
My sincerest condolences,
Victoria (aka Queen)

To my dear friend Dawn, Eugene, Sheina and Barbara. Thank you for sharing your Mom with me all these years. She was like a mom to me and always opened her heart to all your friends. She would always straighten us out if we were out of line, but loved us none the less. I love her knitting and creativity. Oh! Her famous Fudge, making it right up to recently. We could always get a big laugh, when in her presence.
Thank you Aunt Mavis for all your love.

To Gene, Sheena, Dawn and Barbara , we were saddened to read the obits this morning and see beautiful Aunt Mavis Tatem there. Oh what a miss she will be. Aunt Mavis had a heart of gold always giving to her family, friends and church community! Her infamous fudge will be missed at our church fairs. My mom Carolyn Saltus used to call her for fudge every year! On her passing Aunt Mavis called me and reminded me of the same. That tradition lived on until her passing. Aunt Mavis I will miss your laughter and our long conversations on the phone ! I´ll try the fudge recipe and Dawn you may have to come help !
Bless you Queen Mavis and may you rest in heavenly peace and rise in glory!

Words cannot convey the essence of Queen Mavis. She was a real character who lived life to the fullest. She had an awesome smile, laugh and sense of humor. We have lost an icon who sat on her Ferrars Lane porch daily loading up on vitamin D and waving to everyone passing by. Her kindness was a testmony to her humanity and will be remembered forever. The rose garden she tended was her pride and joy and remains a landmark of colorful flora. She lived long, laughed hard and loved life but left too soon. Take your much deserved rest aunt MaeMae, Diva, aka Queen Mavis. We will celebrate the grand birthday's on May 16th in memory of you! You will be missed for sure my dear neighbor. Gene, Dawn, Sheina and Barbara thanks for your dedication and love to this bigger than life woman of substance. RIP Queen Mavis. Dr Gaynell & Val Caesar
