Interment to follow at Marsden Methodist Cemetery Hamilton Parish.Michael is the loving son of the late Edward and Kay Gilbert; loving father to Deandre Proctor; life partner to Giselle Burgess; grandson of the late Ida (nee Steede) and Ewing Darrell, late Muriel (nee Burns) and Edward Gilbert; brother to Roderick, Colin, Pamela and the late Loring Gilbert and Kamala Gilbert; his aunts Coralie and Yvonne Gilbert, Elva Felder, Rosalie Duncan, Lynndell Lovell; uncles Roland, Rosewald and Darrel, Randell Darrell; nieces Kamalita Lawla, Denika Gilbert; nephew Matthew Gilbert; special cousins Alan Gilbert, Monroe Darrell; former employee/close friend of Dr June Hill and the late Buddy and Georgina Hill; special friends Eugene Simmons, Curtis Turner, Barry Wellman, Kevin Hughes, Charles Sweeting, Wayne Morrissey, Ralph Pitt, Rudolph Wade, Oliver Bailey, Albert Ratteray the late Brian Brangman, Roy Jones and Roseann Gumbs, the Maxwell family; daughter's mother Laverne Proctor.
