Michael Percy Obituary

It is with great sadness that we announce the death on May 3, 2015 of MICHAEL ARTHUR PERCY in his 80th year, after a long illness. A resident of Bermuda for many years from September 1960, Michael lived for the past several years in his family home in Kent, England. He will be remembered locally for his woodworking skills and his long career as a teacher of Physical Education and Woodworking at Whitney Institute. He was a keen rugby player, and he and his good friend Ollie McKittrick were founding members of the Teachers Rugby Club. Michael is survived by his brother Richard Percy (Jean) of Co Galway, Ireland, sister Avril Ellenport (Sam) of Belmont, Mass, and his two sons, Robert Percy (Wendy) of St David's and Andrew Percy (Claire) of Paget. Also surviving are four grandchildren, Jamison and Hanna (Robert), and Nathan and Reece (Andrew), and special friends Ian and Joan Howcroft of Kent, England. Michael will be fondly remembered by family and friends in Bermuda, the UK, USA and Canada. A memorial service will be held in England, followed at a later date by the private interment of ashes at sea in Bermuda.
