Michael was a commonly shared name when I was young and so Michaels had to be 'special in some way' to stand out from the crowd. Michael Swan stood out in a quiet but purposeful way through all the days and encounters. It was a pleasure and an inspiration to know him. It is even more so as I have reflected with others recently on his shock passing. He stands high and will ride long in the memory of any friends like me. May all his family and friends be comforted. We all give thanks for his presence when we had it.

I wish to extend condolences to Mike´s family.
Mike and I knew each other prior to this, but we bonded in high school when our gym teacher (Jerry Swan) would pick us up early in the morning before school and take us to train at Horseshoe Bay. We ran track together for several years in Bermuda and attended college together. Mike had a kind soul and an infectious laugh which was on display whenever we were together. On the occasions when he visited our home with his daughters it was clear how much he loved and cared for them. It was wonderful to share the experience of maturing from teenagers into adulthood together.
Martinique, Angelique, Ivan and Dianne and the entire Swan family, my wife (Ruby) and I pray for your comfort during this time of bereavement.

He was always a bright light. Visiting the Swan family were some of my happiest memories growing up and Michael was a big part of that. He will be missed, and always remembered.

I remember so clearly when my best friend, Angela, told me proudly that she had a new baby brother and his name was Michael. A bright light had come into the world.
Now, many years later, that light has gone out. Ivan and Diane, Martinique and Angelique, I am heartbroken and so sorry to be far away at this moment.

He can put a smile on your face no matter what was going on, and always told good stories that left positive impressions on many people. Every time I saw Michael smile I was reminded of his Mother (he had his mother´s smile), who taught along with my Mother, Lucille Harris, at Prospect Primary school for many, many years.
Michael´s mannerisms were so much like those of his Mother, your Mother, Ivan and your Grandmother, Martinique and Angelique.
Michael was in my class at Prospect Primary School and in recent years, he was a colleague at the Bermuda Hospitals Board.
Michael´s personality, like his smile, was warm and welcoming. I am
sure that he leaves behind many memories that will give you comfort.
