So very sad to hear of Noel's passing. What a wonderful man and family. Loved hearing his stories, and as is usual in life, should have made much more of an effort to visit and hear more of them. My heart goes out to Elonda and to all the family. I know they are going to miss him in so many ways. Love to you Elonda and may the Lord bless you. Will call when things settle a bit, but please know you can call Peter or Myself anytime. Peter and Debra

I can remember knowing Noel Stevens since about the age of four. I can still remember being a young boy watching him reviewing the blue prints of the 2 story, 2 unit house that he built with a small crew on Hill Crescent in Spanish Point. My parents - with 3 kids in tow - became his first tenants in the lower apartment. He was one of the leading examples of the generation of super-talented, self-actualized, motivated, and ultimately self-made black men born in Bermuda in the early 1930's, who came of age in the late 1950s. These men could almost built a traditional 3 bedroom Bermuda home single-handedly. Noel was super talented in the "Bermuda building arts and trades", and was widely hired, and admired, because of it. He also loved jazz and rhythm and blues and had a memory and knowledge of the classic Jazz & R&B tunes, including who wrote them, like few people I know. His talent and hard work allowed him to live life on his own terms. And, he passed on his skills and business acumen to many younger apprentices. A true Bermudian. Rest In Peace Noel.

Uncle Noel, I am sending my condolences to your family. As a member of the family from Spanish Point, I thank you for being there when my father was killed. You stepped in and eased my pain of heart. Being there when I needed an ear while living on the island. Staying connected while we were living wherever we were on the planet. Each summer was made a lot better because you were always there for all four of us. I will miss you but I have such incredible memories.

The Stevens Family please accept my Sincere condolences on the passing of my friend Mr Stevens. I was introduced to Mr Stevens several years ago by the late Sgt Paynter, through my love for Audio. He was an avid audiophile and an encyclopedia of information. He was very gifted and willing to share. Rest in Peace after a life well lived.

We are still in a state of disbelief that our dearest uncle Noel is no longer with us physically; but his legacy lives on. He was a special, loving and sincere uncle to his nieces and nephews. His knowledge of photography, politics, the economy, "the good old days" kept you captivated. He told us stories about his amazing trips around the world with Aunt Elonda which were done with such excitement. We will miss his voice, but shall cherish the memories and hold them dear to our hearts. To Aunt Elonda, uncle Noel's children and grandchildren, we love you and are praying for you.
Sincerely, Paula - one of the daughters of the late Inga Postlethwaite

Uncle Noel,
I wish I could talk to you one last time and tell you how much you truly meant to me.
You were the most caring, funny, supportive and genuine guy I have ever met. You are an example of what I hope my children will be someday. I will always remember your fun-loving outlook on life. The way you made people smile and laugh so effortlessly. There was never a time I did not feel loved by you, I knew you were always there if I needed someone to talk to.
I have so many memories of you that I’ll never forget, some of my favorites being things as simple as listening to your stories about your youth and looking at the photos you have taken of the world. The memories that are so simple, yet I will miss them most.
You lived a life most people dream of, travelling the world and capturing it all on your camera, and I being one of the lucky people, am able to display some of those photos.
If I had the chance to spend a few more hours with you doing whatever we wanted I picture us sitting in a boat fishing in the middle of a lake surrounded by trees while the birds fly by and the only thing you can hear is the wind rustling the leaves. Its calm and we take pictures of the wildlife, you tell me your stories and nothing else matters in that moment.
I will Love you forever. xxx

I have so many strong memories with my uncle Noel but the one that stands out the most was when he took me for a ride on his moped when I was younger visiting Bermuda. I remember being nervous and holding on to him so tight but also being so happy to be doing something so exciting with him. I will always remember him for being so loving, joyful, positive, and strong. He had so many great stories from his life and I'm glad I got to be a part of some of them. I will greatly miss going to the movies with you every time you came to visit. Rest in peace uncle Noel

When I first met Noel in 1990 he had already lived a full and interesting life. In the years since then I have regularly marveled at how much more he and Elonda packed into it. As far as I could tell, he didn't change from the gentle and affable man of years before with his easy smile and and ready attention, though he and Elonda seemed to be adding so many more experiences that they could talk about. Under Northern Lights on a frozen lake in Yellowknife, or in the haze of smoke from a backyard BBQ in Hamilton, or relaxing by the sea, at Windswept, Noel was always the same great company. No doubt everyone else who has memories from yet further flung places with Noel and Elonda feels equal warmth. That is a wonderful thing to leave behind.

My heartfelt condolences go out to the family of Mr. Stevens, especially his wife, Elonda; both of whom i got to know over the years. He was such a gentleman and I always looked forward to seeing him. I originally though he had been a camera instructor that I had once had classes from! I can see from all of the condolences that I have read through he was so loved and cared for by many of his friends and relatives around the world. I know his family are grievng, but peace "cometh in the morning". His place in heaven i feel is secured. God bless the family. Phyllis

As I write this I am sending all of my love, thoughts, and prayers to everyone who had the opportunity to be a part of my great Uncle Noel's life. Ever since I was young, he has, and always will be my hero and one of my role models. I cherish every moment I got to spend with him. He taught me to be humble, to always try my hardest in everything I do, and to always follow my dreams. Uncle Noel supported me in everything I did and I know he'll always be watching over myself and everyone else in his life. Rest in peace to my great Uncle Noel.

Noel brought great JOY to us all with his delight in the present moment. He showed us how to see the light and beauty that is present all around us even in these difficult times. With Noel you knew you were important and with his creative tender heart he gifted us with his love and laughter. Colin and I have had so much fun with Noel over the last few years in Victoria where we shared many a sunset and whale tail splash. Noel will be so missed but he will never leave our hearts.
