Heartfelt condolences to the family ~ Norman was such a talented organist working alongside my father at Christ Church Devonshire 50 years ago...and not only that...he was a kind and patient junior choir director and piano teacher. Will always be fondly remembered. Grateful for the times we were able to catch up with him when back in Bermuda. Sending love.

Dear Anne, Hywel, Beth, Bryanna, Grace and Reid,
My deepest sympathy to you all on your very sad loss of Norman. I am thinking of each one of you.
I love the photo of Norman´s smiling face, while holding his precious Violin . For many years, from the time his young son was only 4 years old, Norman brought Hywel every Saturday morning @ 8:30 am to my house on Mount Hill, for his son´s Violin lessons. For each Violin lesson, Norman was always so cheerful, so patient with his little son, and always so pleasant to work with, in music. I also remember Norman including with his own mother @ Dunbarton, hosting members of Bermuda´s music community in their own home, always with kindness and generosity. Norman was a special person, and a long standing part of the Bermuda´s cultural community. Very sad for Reid, Grace and Bryanna, to lose their grandfather, while still so young. With thoughts of much sympathy for you, Anne. Sincere condolences to you all.

Sincere condolences to the Brown Family. Norman was a very kind man. We took our children's cellos to him whenever they needed repair or new bridges. He was always available to help us and saved us many times when we thought we would have to miss lessons due to having no instrument. He will be a big miss, but fondly remembered for his kind and calm demeanor.

Anne and family so sorry to hear this. Norman tuned my piano just a week or so ago and had a lovely chat.
And of course our good times at Alexander & Alexander when he helped foster me as the newby.
Absolutely the strong silent type but as others have said that wonderful wit and dry sense of humor.
He will be missed.

So sorry to hear of the passing of Norman. He was an extraordinary person who Tuned our family piano on many occasions. He must have had the patients of a saint to take on a task of building violins. I always found him to be thoughtful and an interesting person to chat with. I am sure he will be missed a great deal by you his family, but also Bermuda as well. My sincerest condolences

I´m heartbroken for you Anne and Hywel and family. Norman truly was a gentle genius, and an amazing musician with a brilliant wit. He took incredible pride in his workmanship including tuning & repairing pianos & making violins. But his greatest pride and joy was surely his family, especially his grandchildren. My heart goes out to all of you.

Father Tom Slawson and I are very sad to hear the news of Norman's passing. He was our organist at both St. Peter's and Chapel of Ease. He played beautifully even when the organ at Chapel of Ease wouldn't cooperate. Norman was quiet, but friendly when spoken to and he will be remembered as a kind-hearted and talented musician and even more so, as a good person. Our sincere condolences to Anne and his family, friends, St. Peter's Church and Chapel of Ease. I know he will be sadly missed, but also remembered with much fondness.
