Robert Edward Barclay, affectionately known as Bob to his friends and family, embodied a life of kindness, generosity, and intelligence. Born on July 21, 1930, in Vancouver, British Columbia, Bob's life journey was one of remarkable determination and kindness. On July 16, 2025, he concluded his 95-year voyage in Victoria, BC, leaving behind a legacy that will continue to light the way for many.Bob's early years were spent on the West Coast. He attended high school in Powell River, where he met his future wife, Wendy, and the seeds of his future successes were sown. From the humble beginnings in the mailroom at Reed Stenhouse in the 1950s, Bob's career in the insurance business was remarkable. His work ethic and natural intelligence propelled him through the ranks, culminating in his role as president of the Bermuda division of AON, a testament to his professional dedication over an impressive 42-year tenure.Bob was well-known for his generosity, always extending a helping hand to those in need. His kindness was a language that transcended words, and his intelligence was not merely academic but deeply rooted in an understanding of the human spirit. He will be missed by the Aon Bermuda family.
