My deep Condolences to Bobby's family and friends. As young teens in Van Nuys, we were great friends. We spent time Bobby's house and chatted on the phone. He was a uniquely sensitive, talented and generous! Miss you Friend, Lesa

Periodically I go online checking for old friends and found this on Robert. We hung out some in Hollywood, I worked at BMI at the time. It must have been around '87, '88. My condolences, he was a good man.

My very first band (The Stardusters, named after Bobby's Dad's Air Force Squadron)consisted of Gilbert Marquez (vocals), Ira Toles (Guitar), Bobby (Drums), and myself on guitar. Between 1966 and 1967, we played many parties for children of hollywood stars, as well as Sammy Davis Jr's surprise birthday party at his Beverly Hills mansion in 1967. Many celebrity's wre there (Bill Cosby, Robert Culp, Jonathan Winters, Milton Berle, etc). It was truly the high point in my young life, and probably my 15 minutes of fame. There was a picture taken of Sammy and our band on the spiral staircase of his mansion, and I'm still trying to get a copy of that.
That was the most exciting period in my life, and I will NEVER forget it...I still have vivid memories of us jamming in the pool house at the Lansing's beautiful spanish style home in Van Nuys way back when.....

I am so saddened to learn of Robert's passing. I knew Robert back in the 90's when he was struggling to find his way. I had shared my faith with him and had hoped a seed was planted. His mother was hoping that my influence would help him. I'm so blessed to learn that Robert found the love and peace of Christ before he passed. He was a kind and gentle soul and an accomplished musician. He is sorely missed...

Michelle, I was saddened to learn of Bob's passing. I have thought of him often over the years and remember when he left for Bermuda. He was a student of mine at Kung-Fu San Soo, Reseda for several years. A wonderful soul. I remember when he first called me. I was at home playing violin and he announced that he was Robert Lansing Jr. I started to play the Dominic Frontiere, 12 O'Clock High theme and he said, "How do you know that?" LOL I had many wonderful conversations with him about his family and his music. We affectionately called him "Lan Sing".
Attached please find a pic of him at our studio. (www.sansooreseda.com) I sure will miss him... Master Paul H. Borisoff, Kung Fu San Soo.

I was good friends with Bob-ert. He was very interesting indeed. Sweetheart of a human being. It hurt so much to learn he has passed on. I sure do miss that guy.I know he had finally found most of what he was looking for before he went home. Now he is in the light where he truly shines. I pray for all his loved ones so they won't hurt. God bless. You are SO LOVED Bob Lansing!!

Dear Michelle:

It has taken me many months to be able to write to you. I heard of Bob's passing from a very dear friend of mine (also a mutual friend of Bob's) last September. Though I was and continue to be stunned and deeply saddened by his passing, I always feared this news coming too soon. I knew him very well as we spent four years of our very young adulthood together. We lived both in Los Angeles & New York.

I would love to talk with you personally one day to share stories.

God Bless you for loving him. You must be a very special woman.

I was indulging in favorite memories from the past and Bob's fabulous smile he exuberantly would flash me in the halls at Grant High came to mind :) Even though I missed a chance in this life to tell him he still brings a smile to my face, what a joy it is to know I will be able to share a smile again with him in heaven ! God Bless you Bob :) Nancy Worth

Bobby and I were best friends and neighbors when we were in the single digits. We played, laughed and swam before it all got too serious. Good times!

I went to school with Bob for a year back around 73 or 74. We hung out together some. Never became great friends, but I was not real good at that. Bob's dad knew my stepfather from the "old days" in Hollywood. so we shared a connection with that. I am saddened to see that Bob has died. But also find joy in what he accomplished and how he lived his life. I see there is another friend of Bob's from back in the 70s that now lives in Oregon. Small world.

My Teenage Years with Bob
In 1979 when I was 19 years young I found out through my dad that Emily McLaughlin was my 3rd cousin. At that time I loved watching General Hospital.
The Luke & Laura Days!!!
A few days later I found myself sitting, in the Green Room, on the set of General Hospital talking to Emily about our family tree. She invited me over that night to her home to meet her son. What an amazing night that was for Bob and I to not only become best of friends but for both of us to gain a cousin.
I came over every night it seems for the next year or so to hear him play with Carl and the band.
I was given a nickname by Bob. He called me the Balloon Kid! I would always come over to the house with Laughing Balloons to brighten the evening up with. Oh those were the good old days...
Rest in Pease Cuz!
You will always be in my heart and I will be looking for you soon.

I knew Robert when I was a teen. I am 55 now. My childhood friend (and to this day) Lindy (Bear) Davis and I would go over to his home on Erwin St. and listen to the music. At breaks games were played and I got very badly injured. My father and Emily took me to the hospital, while Robert came along and made me feel calm.
I know he now plays awesome music for the angels.

Hi Michelle,

I was so sorry to hear of Bob's passing after reconnecting with him after what seems like a few years ago...
I played guitar in my very first band "The Stardusters" (named after his dad's military unit) with Bob way back in 1966-1967 (Bob was on drums). I have fond memories of rehearsing in the pool room at thier beautiful spanish home in Van Nuys, playing Beach Boys, Monkees, and other covers of that time. We actually played a surprise Birthday Party for Sammy Davis Jr. at his mansion in Beverly Hills. What a thrill for a 12 year old!.

Our deepest condolences, and your both in our prayers.

A great musician and friend. I enjoyed playing keyboards in a band for Marcell Clemens when he was playing guitar.
He was blessed with great talent and he will be a great addition to the heavenly kingdom

Uncle Bob was a truly inspirational person. I am glad to have known him and am thankful for his positive personality and influence that showed me that anything is possible. Bob will be missed, but his memory along with his music will be with us always.

Words cannot express the sadness and loss that everyone blessed by Bob's friendship must feel. I'll miss laughing and making music with him. He was a tremendous talent with an even bigger heart. My most sincere and deepest condolences to all who knew and loved him. We love you and we miss you, Bob.

Although we haven't been in contact for a long time, Bob has always been in my heart and memory - a truly fine man who was looking for fulfillment in his life. I am so shocked after learning of his passing. I'm sure he'll continue beautiful music in a better place.

Bobbo was my adopted brother. We shared a lifetime of great moments with each other. We made a lot of great music together. He played on my 4th Symphony and did a superb job... that performance alone gives him a special kind of immortality. But, what's greater than that, is the fact that he was such a warm, wonderful human being. I shall miss him greatly for the rest of my life. I love you brother.
