With a broken heart, I acknowledge the transition to a garden of angels from one of Earth's Angels. A woman of pure sincerity, love and the wonderment of life. The blessing is that she joins Swannie and others that loved her. Her life has come full circle. Warmly, Aline

When my mother, Lucille Harris, learnt of the passing of Mrs. Swan this evening, she was reflective, quiet for a few moments.
She then said to me, "Andrea, Sheila Swan has passed. I am now the only teacher living of the five teachers that transitioned from Pembroke Infants School on Ewing Street to become members of the faculty at the then new Prospect Primary School in 1958."
My mother continued: "Between us, we taught literally thousands of students and we became more than colleagueswe became fast friends."
After prompting her, my mother listed the Famous Five:
Mrs. Gloria Bascome nee Dickinson
Mrs. Lucille Harris Nee Eve
Miss. Dorothy Hughes
Miss. Eulyn James
Mrs. Sheila Swan nee Dickinson
My mother last saw Mrs. Swan in November 2015 when she came to Bermuda to attend her brother's funeral. My mother is so glad that she saw Mrs. Swan then. She fondly remembers sitting on Mrs. Swan's porch and reminiscing with her for hours.
Memories are always sustaining, always comforting
They remind us of the experiences, values and mores upon which we build our lives and shaped our families.
Ivan, Michael, Dianne, cherish the memories..they are so precious..
The Harris Family extends its sincere condolences and prayers to the Swan and Dickinson Families.
